This Toronto-based Bite Elegance, founded by Susanne Langmuir in 2011, makes food-grade top products. New for this year is Nudies Bloom lip, cheek, and attention shade sticks, which can have a dewy finish and were created by celebrity makeup artist Jane Phillips.

Saje Normal Wellness

Jean-Pierre LeBlanc and Kate Ross LeBlanc in Vancouver in 1992 as a crucial oils company, Saje has since branched into skincare and home products. Previously five decades, the natural, sustainable brand has expanded massively across Quebec and into the U.S. It now has 77 stores. Its newest product launch is Sun Guard, a mineral sunscreen that promises broad-spectrum U.V. protection with no chalky finish.

The 7 Virtues

“Make perfume, not war” is the motto of the Halifax-based company that has been founded by social entrepreneur Barb Stegemann in 2009. It sources essential oils from the developing world, especially conflict zones, and pays suppliers a reasonable price to help rebuild their countries. All its fragrances are phthalate- and paraben-free, vegan, and hypoallergenic. Its signature “peace scent” is Vanilla Woods, a warm, sweet fragrance with hints of fruit.

Initially known for handmade candles and soaps, this five-year-old Vancouver brand branched out into skincare last year. It has six products—cleansing balm, mask, moisturizer, exfoliant, facial oil, and toner. All are made with 100 % natural ingredients, look and smell beautiful, and feel luxurious, in line with the brand’s philosophy of nourishing both skin and spirit.
