Mera Peak Climbing is not a technical Peak climbing in Nepal, however, it is taken as a challenging peak climbing. Do not go to encounter Mera Peak Climbing without basic climbing skills. Details Itinerary
Day 01: Meeting in Khare and Pre-Climbing Training and becoming familiar with using crampons, Carabiners, figure eight, rope Ice Axe etc.
Take a spectacular flight to Lukla for 35 minutes. Lukla flight offers you magnificent landscapes and mountain vistas. You will land at Lukla Airport. Meet your crews and begin to hit the trail. You will enjoy beautiful traditional settlements, lush forest and mountain vistas. Passing Kothe and Tangnang will, finally, take you to Khare. You will meet your climbing team including the professional climbing guide at Khare. Now, you will attend a pre-climbing training. Our guide will make you familiar with how to handle crampons, Carabiners, figure eight, rope Ice Axe etc. At the same time, you will build up confidence with basic climbing skills and equipment. Along with these, you will also learn some skills of rope. You will prepare the rest of things after attending this pre-climbing meeting at Khare. Overnight at lodge at Khare.
Day 02: Climb to High Camp (5,780/18,958 feet) -5/6 hours [Breakfast:Khare, Lunch: High Camp and Dinner: High Camp].
First, you will head to Mera Peak Base Camp along the steep trail. From Mera Peak Base Camp, we have a more challenging trail that passes numerous crevasses. Our guide will tell us clearly how to handle these situations. We, finally, arrive at Mera Peak Base Camp which offers magnificent Mt. Everest, Makalu, Chamlang, Lhotse, Nuptse, Baruntse and Cho Oyu. Now, we set up the camp here and stay overnight. Overnight in camp at Mera Peak Base Camp.
Day 03: Mera Peak (6,461 meters/21,190 feet) summit and back to Khare (5,045 meters/16551 feet)- 8/9 hours Breakfast: High camp, Lunch: on the way and Dinner: Khare].
We rise at round between 1-2 in the morning and prepare for the climb. This is going to be the most important climb for us. We ascended passing several glaciers and crevasses. After a few hours of ascent, the Mera Peak summit looms. The final section of the climb is really challenging on the step rock where we fix the rope if it is required. You will head to the summit and celebrate astonishing views of the majestic Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) and others alluring snow-fed peaks. After imprisoning blissful moments into our cameras, we descend along the same trail to High Camp. You will have a rest here for some time and finally walk down to Khare. Overnight at lodge at Khare.
Day 04: Reserve Day for Contingency if needed.
