Water leaks are the major reason for many damages and repairing work in any home. This is because homeowners take it lightly and they don’t focus to repair a leaking pipe or a leaking tap because of their busy schedule.

But later on, the same problem of the small leak becomes a major problem at it destroyed many other things at home. As mentioned above, it can bend the wooden floor, it can cause the peeling paint on the wall, it can cause mold formation on walls or floor, it can also cause wet spots on the walls, and much more.

With that, it can also increase the humidity level in the air and can increase the moisture in the room which is not good for many electrical gadgets.

So, in short, detection of water leaks is very important in order to avoid major home repair tasks. Here are 3 easy ways to detect water leaks in your home.

Look For the Water Leak Signs

The most important thing is to know what are the signs of hidden water leaks? Like water leaks in the wall or underground plumbing leaks. And once you know these signs, you should recognize that as a possibility of a water leak as well.

If you have a plumbing issue in the wall, the water will be drained out from the pipe and will deposit in the wall. Walls can’t absorb all the water, and soon it will appear on the walls at wet drops.

So, if you see such a sign, you should recognize it as a water leak and should call your plumber immediately.

The other sign of the underground water leak is the peeling paint. If you see that the fresh paint is peeling, or it is cracked from different locations, it indicates that the wall has a water leak problem.

Another sign of the water leak is the formation of mold on the floor or on the walls. In all these scenarios, you need to detect the exact spot of plumbing leaks, or should call your expert plumber who can fix these things.

Manual Inspection of Plumbing System

Manual inspection for possible plumbing leaks in the plumbing system is also very important. Visit your laundry and see if the washing machine has a week joint with the pipe? Visit your kitchen and inspect the dishwasher connection with the plumbing system.

Also, inspect the taps of the sink, sometimes because the extra pressure of the washable dishes in the sink makes the connection of taps and sink week that can result in a water leak from those joints.

Also, visit any plumbing pipes which are exposed in the basement and look for any possibility of the water leak from there. Don’t forget to check the connection of water tanks from where water is supplied to the complete home.

Use Smart Water Leak Detector

Using a smart water leak detecting device is the best way to not only detect a water leak but also stop that leak right away. There are different water leaks detectors available in the market that can stop the water supply to a specific plumbing system when it detects a leak in that area.

So, in this case, the water supply to the rest of the house will keep continuing, only the part where the plumbing issue occurs will be stopped and will not get any water supply.
