5 Best Homemade Immunity Boosting Drinks Recipe

Our immune system is very complex and constantly active to eliminate unwanted cells from the body, which means it requires a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals from the diet or immunity booster supplements to have good energy levels. 

The following homemade immunity boosting drinks are packed with essential nutrients for optimal health or combating the viruses such as the flu or cold. 

  1. Citrus Juice

Citrus juice contains enough daily recommended consumption of vitamin C. To make this juice you need 3 medium-sized oranges and one grapefruit.

How to Prepare 

  • Squeeze the juice from three medium-sized oranges, and one grapefruit mix them together in a jar and garnish it with lime slices. You can also add ice too.
  1. Spiced Tea

This spiced tea is an immunity booster as it is loaded with compounds that keep the infections away. If you are a tea lover, then you will definitely enjoy this one cup of kadak chai. Ingredients required for this recipe are 1 tbsp of grated ginger, 2 peppercorns, 1 inch cinnamon stick, 2 cloves, 1 star anise, 1 crushed cardamom pod, 1 tbsp unpasteurized honey and some tulsi leaves. 

How to Prepare 

  • Put all the ingredients except honey in a 1 litre boiling water and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Enjoy the 1/4th cup of this with some honey. If you want, you can add milk to it.
  1. Green Juice

This juice contains a good amount of folic acid vitamin A, vitamin C and other antioxidants that reduce inflammation and helps the body to combat infections. You need 1 tbsp Coriander leaves, 1 cup of mint leaves, 1 cup of baby spinach, 1 pear or apple, 1 cup chopped cucumber, 2 tbsp lemon and a pinch of black salt to prepare this recipe. 

How to Prepare 

  • Put all the ingredients in the blender, and add a cup of water to it, blend it and consume immediately.
  1. Haldi Milk

perfume women is one of the active ingredients found in turmeric that improves the antioxidant capacity of the body and is effective against free radicals. Nut milk and spices provide good fats. This recipe can be made using 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk, ½ of cup light coconut milk, 2 tbsp of organic raw honey, 1 tbsp haldi (turmeric) powder or grated turmeric, ½ tbsp of ginger, ½ tbsp of black pepper powder and 1- inch piece of cinnamon. 

How to Prepare 

  • Except the honey, mix all the ingredients in a pan. Then heat the mixture on the stove in low flame for 5 to 10 minutes, make sure not to boil it.
  • Then remove it from the flame, strain it and add honey to taste.
  1. 5. Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin contains a good amount of beta carotener, which is a perfect immunity booster and protects from free radical damage. Nutmeg and cinnamon in it fight inflammation, heal damaged tissue and keep the infections at bay. Coconut milk has lauric acid, which has antiseptic properties. The list of ingredients you need for this recipe are, 3 cups of red pumpkin cubes, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 cup of chopped onions, 1 tbsp chopped garlic, 1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder, 1/4 tbsp nutmeg powder, 1/2 tbsp jeera powder, 1 tbsp oregano, 1 cup thin coconut milk and salt and pepper to taste 

How to Prepare

  • Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the chopped garlic, onions, and sauté them on a medium flame for at least a minute.
  • Add pumpkin to it, sauté it on a medium flame for three minutes. Then add 4 cups of hot water, pepper, salt and mix it. Cover it with a lid and cook it on a medium flame, stir it occasionally for 10 minutes.
  • Remove it from the flame and let it cool, blend the mixture until smooth.
  • Now transfer the mixture into the same pan, add herbs and spices and coconut milk. Mix it well and let it cook on a medium flame while stirring occasionally for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.

These easy to make homemade drinks will keep you healthy and strengthen your immune system. This way you will get all the ingredients and vitamins needed by the body.
