5 Essential Must Haves for the Kitchen

Swedish dishcloths are the perfect multipurpose kitchen tool to have in your cupboards. They can be used to dry your dishes and clean up spills on your countertops, but they’re also great at getting into those hard-to-reach places, like the cracks and crevices between pots and pans. Because of their versatility, it’s important to pick out high-quality clothes that you can rely on time after time, like the Tru Earth Swedish Dishcloths available on our website (www.tru.earth).

1) Microfiber cloths

Tru Earth Swedish Dishcloths are made of a cellulose-cotton blend and are 100% biodegradable so that they won’t sit in landfills. Just toss them out with your compostable waste, and they will decompose in a few weeks. We offer dishcloths in four different sizes: 12-inch x 16 inches, 16 inches x 24 inches, 24-inch x 36 inches, and 36 inches x 48 inches.

They are machine washable and can be tossed right into the washing machine, or hand washed to get that sparkle back! Made from bamboo fibers, our towel set is soft, absorbent and durable. The towels come in three colors: white, charcoal grey and taupe (creamy brown).

Reduce water usage by making use of reusable cloths instead of paper towels! Our wet wipes come in handy when you want to clean up without wasting paper towels. Use this wet wipe after every meal to help preserve our environment even more. These wipes are chemical free and hypoallergenic – perfect for babies as well as adults.

2) Paper Towels

Paper towels are an absolute necessity in any kitchen. They’re great to use when you need to clean up a mess or dry your hands after washing them. One problem that people often face is that they don’t want to keep paper towels around because they can be wasteful and expensive. You might not even realize it, but you can also use dishcloths or kitchen towels to substitute paper towels. The great thing about these is that they’ll actually last longer than paper towels will.

Plus, if you wash them with your dishes (you know, with water and soap), then there’s no chance of creating more waste. And as mentioned before, if you choose Swedish Dishcloths from Tru Earth, then you’ll also help cut down on landfills too!

These cloths are made of a cellulose-cotton blend which means they’re 100% biodegradable, so you won’t have to worry about them adding to the mounting piles of trash that end up in landfills. All you have to do is toss them out with your compostable waste, and they’ll decompose in just a few weeks.

3) Cleaning products

Tru Earth Swedish Dishcloths are 100% biodegradable so that they won’t sit in landfills. Just toss them out with your compostable waste, and they will decompose in a few weeks. They’re made of a cellulose-cotton blend, meaning they can be machine washed, but they also work great when hand washed. The small pack is perfect for throwing in a bag or taking on vacation and can clean up any mess!

Plus, at only $4 per cloth (2 towels), these dishcloths are cheaper than most other dishcloths on the market today. The best thing about these dishcloths? It’s not just water you’re washing dishes with–you’re using less water because there’s no need for soap!

Lastly, these dishcloths last longer than traditional ones because there’s less wear and tear. I find that one cloth lasts me about two months, as opposed to a regular cloth which may only last one month. Plus, they dry faster because they’re thinner, too–a plus if you’ve ever forgotten an item in the drying rack before.

4) Sharp knives

Sharp knives are a must-have in any kitchen. Whether you’re chopping up ingredients or slicing through meat, a sharp knife is essential. I had to learn this lesson the hard way when I tried cutting chicken with a blunt knife and ended up tearing it to shreds.

A dull knife will make cooking much more difficult, as you’ll need to put more pressure on it, which will tire your hand out faster. The problem is that most people don’t know how to sharpen their own knives correctly and end up using a lousy sharpener or just throwing them out.

However, if you have an electric sharpener (or even a manual one), it’s easy to keep your knives always ready to go! To sharpen, place the blade of your knife at a 20 degree angle against the sharpener and pull towards you slowly while maintaining contact between the two surfaces. To maintain, simply repeat these steps every time before use.

5) A quick drying towel

Tru Earth Swedish Dishcloths are 100% biodegradable so that they won’t sit in landfills. Just toss them out with your compostable waste, and they will decompose in a few weeks. They are made of a cellulose-cotton blend, a soft material on your hands but durable enough to be used as a towel. They also have a loop at one end so you can hang them up to dry after washing dishes. And these dishcloths come in two sizes: 16×24 or 12×16.

The larger size may seem like overkill, but this way, if you spill something while cooking, you don’t need to worry about running back into the Kitchen because everything is right there waiting for you! Plus, having both sizes gives everyone an opportunity to do their part and help clean.

Conclusion

At first, I was skeptical that these dishcloths would be any different than the other ones we’ve used in the past. But once I started using them, I noticed a few major differences. First, they dry quickly and don’t leave any wet spots on my dishes like some of our old clothes did. Second, they are thicker and more durable than some of our old clothes were. Lastly, they seem to be cleaner because all I need to do is wash and reuse them, which saves me so much time!
