5 Reasons You Should be Looking for 304 Stainless Steel Tube Grill

Many people will not understand why they should make it clear to the grill supplier that they are looking for 304 stainless steel tube grill. In most cases, they would consider that just being able to find a stainless steel grill would be enough. There is however more to choosing a stainless steel grill.

It is common to find fabricators looking for 304 stainless steel tube for different applications, but that should not be only something for fabricators. If you want to have more than just a grill that will get the job done, then the grade of steel used in it should matter to you. Here are some of the reasons why.

1- 304 Grade is Durable

There is a common misconception that every stainless steel is durable. That is a myth, the truth is that the grade of the steel will determine how durable it is. The composition of 304 stainless steel makes it not just strong, but also resistant to different elements that could quickly reduce the life of other stainless steel.

Despite the heavy price tag placed on grills made from this grade of steel, it is worth spending that much since several years down the road, that grill will still be serving you. This grade of steel can last more than 50 years.

2- It Can Maintain the Luster

One of the reasons many people love stainless steel is because of that shine. The grill is not just a tool, it is part of the aesthetics of a home or commercial kitchen. But most stainless steel grades will lose the luster after a while. With 304 grade, however, you just have to maintain it well and it will continue to shine just like the day you bought it.

The secret is in the finishing. The finishing given to genuine 304-grade steel ensures that it will maintain the luster many years down the road. Even when you touch it, you can feel that smooth finishing coat which protects it from a lot. However, it is advised that you avoid using strong bleach on the steel since that can erode the finishing.

3- It Withstands Outdoor Conditions

The elements have a way of taking their toll on metal and many other materials. This makes it tricky to have them stationed outside. This is not a fear you would have with this grade. It has tough metallic properties and the composition of chromium makes it corrosion resistant to a higher level than the lower grade stainless steel which would eventually languish outside.

4- Low Maintenance

There isn’t much you need to do to keep your stainless steel grill in good shape. The ordinary clean up after use may be enough to leave it looking good and to keep it strong. Stainless steel is generally easy to clean. Grease and dirt do not stick to it. There is no reason to spend on expensive abrasive cleaning detergents since ordinary soap and water will do the job. It is also among food-grade metals so bacteria will be the least of your worries as long as you clean it before and after use.

5- The Workmanship is Usually Great

Because 304 is not a cheap grade, in most cases when a fabricator chooses to make anything out of it, they take the time to do a good job. Most 304 grade grills are impressive. You will notice that it has been assembled with expert care to ensure it doesn’t just look good, but also feels and works well. This grade is about elegance and it will give you value for money. As long as you find genuine 304 stainless steel grills, you will be assured of the workmanship.

Watch Out for the Fakes

There is always the risk of running into a different grade grill being passed off as 304. It is important to have the knowledge to tell the genuine ones. One characteristic of higher-grade steel is its thickness. This makes it heavier than the other grades. You might try to feel the weight, or a simpler test would be to apply pressure in the middle of the grill hood. That area must feel firm when you push it. That can be a sign that it is thick,

You can also glide your hand over the surface of the steel, this will give you an idea of how well it has been finished. High-end stainless still has a smooth finishing. This finishing will ensure that the steel remains resistant to corrosion. Rough surfaces have not been given a finishing that can resist tough exposure to oxidation.

Take-Home

You may have thought any stainless steel will do, but now you should realize the grade matters. Do not try to save a few dollars by settling for lower grade steel that will depreciate. Look for 304 stainless steel.
