Joining the Fight: How You Can Support Organizations That Fight Human Trafficking

A21

A21 is a nonprofit working to abolish human trafficking through awareness, intervention, and aftercare. They have chapters across the U.S. that organize fundraising events, educate people about signs of trafficking, and support survivors. Their Walk for Freedom events raise money while also raising visibility about human trafficking.

Hope for Justice

Hope for Justice investigates trafficking cases and rescues victims, especially children. They work with law enforcement to identify and shut down trafficking operations. They also provide trauma-informed care for survivors at their safe houses and through their rehabilitation programs. Hope for Justice operates in several countries, including the U.S., U.K., Cambodia, and Thailand.

Polaris Project

Polaris started as a grassroots group fighting human trafficking and has now become one of the largest anti-trafficking organizations. They run the National Human Trafficking Hotline, which receives thousands of calls every year reporting tips and requesting help. Polaris also works with tech companies, financial institutions, and local groups to develop solutions for disrupting trafficking networks. They provide resources and consulting for smaller anti-trafficking organizations across the U.S.

These grassroots groups empower local communities to take action against human trafficking.  They raise awareness about this issue, directly support survivors through rehabilitation programs, and work with partners ranging from local businesses to national governments to shut down trafficking operations. Every small act of defiance against this injustice matters in the fight for freedom.
