The uprising of young talent in the movie industry is consistently increasing in recent years. The passion, enthusiasm, and zeal that a young talented actress brings to the set is undoubtedly a game-changer. And the case is no different for Nachela Knox. The added skill set of being a writer and director herself is on display when Ms. Knox takes the screen as Jane Martin in the movie Justice Through Redemption. The indie film illustrates all the great things there is about movies and the people in them.
The transition towards Indie film was a revolution for the movie industry. The personal artistic views are represented in an Indie Film. Nachela Knox takes that ambiance to a whole new level with her passionate work and talent in the movie Justice Through Redemption. Of the 100 top fictional movies that were In the Box office in 2018, 16 were directed by Black Filmmakers. And they were responsible for 1.6 billion at the Box office. So whether it is about the Box office hit or about the artistic value that resonates with the immanence beauty throughout the world, Black Filmmakers are making their mark on the industry like screenwriter/director Walt Diddy attempts to do with his indie Film Justice Through Redemption.
It was amazing to have an African American actress/director in the role of Jane Martin says movie director Walt Diddy and after screening “Complicated” written, directed, and starring Ms. Knox is was a no brainer that giving her the freedom to expand her role on set would be the right thing to do. From early childhood, Nachlea dreamed of becoming an actress and having the opportunity to make movies like the great African American filmmakers such as Spike Lee and Ava Duvernay who inspired her.
Today Ms. Knox`s acting and movie directing skills have stimulated a kind of diversity that promotes a chance for African American women to share movie art with a larger audience. Nachela had multiple movie roles offers when Walt Diddy reached out to her for the Jane Martin role. Though Nachela thought that the script sent to her would make a good movie it was the fact that Walt Diddy took great effort to portray all the women of color in the movie in a respectful light all while capturing the beauty of each woman.
Colorism is one of the last major issues holding back women of color from landing starring roles as well as the opportunity to write and direct movies. With directors like Walt Diddy on the scene to ensure diversity and protecting the likeness of women of color the entertainment industry will always stay fresh and diverse, which is very much needed in this Era.
