Bedrooms with Ottoman low foot bed are the latest trend in decoration

Sleeping on a mattress on the floor can be weird. There are some people who hate the idea. But the truth is that right now it can’t be more in trend. Apart from being comfortable, it brings a bohemian touch to the room that we can’t like more. The use of low beds or directly on the floor is in trend.

Among other features, the ottoman low foot beds expands the visual space of the bedroom, making it appear much larger and more spacious. This is one of the reasons why we do not stop seeing environments with this type of ottoman low foot bed. They are beginning to see each other more and more.

If you are thinking of giving another touch to your bedroom and renovating the bed, in today’s post we leave you some keys to ottoman low foot beds. Give this romantic touch to your room!

Ottoman low foot bed support

The usual thing in this type of ottoman low foot bed is to include a low-height bed base. There are many people who prefer not to put anything. However, we advise putting some base since, in the long run, it can be harmful. The base of the mattress can be the structure with which you feel most comfortable. It can be made of cardboard, wood, with an upholstered base as a tatami or even pallets. You can also incorporate low legs so you don’t feel “so on the ground”. In this case, it is advisable to include ones that do not exceed 20cm.

Low pallet frame bed – suitable for Zen style

It is very important that the mattress is of good quality. As it does not have the height of a “normal” bed base, we must make sure that it is very thick and that it will not spoil at the first change. We have to try to take care of our back as much as possible. However, for this type of ottoman low foot bed, we can find mattresses specifically designed for this function on the market. They are a bit finer and have very good quality. This is a very good option for those bedrooms that do not have too much space and need a slightly thinner mattress but without losing that comfort.

Whichever mattress you choose, you will have to bear in mind that the set does not exceed 35 cm. The key is to play with the base and the mattress. If we decide to give the mattress more height, we subtract it from the base, and vice versa. If not, there will be a very strange atmosphere. It will not be a low or mid-height bed.

In my opinion, low beds are among this type of furniture that becomes fashionable because they are new, different and because they break with a concept with a tradition of many years, giving a new look to something very typical, it may seem an insignificant detail, but lowering the height of the bed makes the bedroom look totally different and I like that, but nevertheless, I doubt that they are really practical.

I have to say that I loved and which the firm proposes several environments that we will see below, I have started to reflect on this type of bed and I come to the conclusion that the advantages that I see are aesthetic and functional disadvantages, so I know that I would never decide to buy it even if I like it.

Among the advantages in addition to the distinction that the fact of having a bedroom different from the traditional one, with a certain oriental and very modernist air, objectively the low bed makes the visual field widen, it reduces less volume to the room as a whole, This way it will appear larger, however, it is not suitable in very small bedrooms because it will make it seem that there is a disproportion in the dimensions, but there is in the medium-sized ones.

In addition, the low furniture subtracts less light and does not take on so much prominence, therefore we can focus our attention within the room on a painting, a mural, or some accessory that we like and interest us more than the bed itself, the room will also seem something more clear than with a loft bed that always eats more light and open space.

But on the other hand, there are the disadvantages associated with that same lack of height that works so well on a decorative level and in my view they are the following, the first make the bed daily, obviously, you have to bend down a lot, which I think is also very uncomfortable for the back, we can also make the bed on our knees, but I will not deny that that does not seem very practical either.

Another example of a disadvantage is that it does not seem like a suitable bed for older people, which gives me the impression that it would have difficulties when getting up from such a low height, not only that, also someone young at a given moment may have a problem or muscle injury that makes it difficult to use … I only see one solution, a height-adjustable bed, and there are, but for now very expensive, in that case, you could enjoy the elegance of the low bed and raise it to not give up at certain times to comfort
