Bring a motivational speaker to your event to inspire and motivate.

Duncan Stevens has been a professional motivational speaker and keynote speaker for over 10 years and influences business through his powerful Effective Influence Model, to become more effective and more influential more frequently.

At times people expect motivation to come in the form of a silver bullet, rocket fuel or an amazing tablet that is suddenly going to make them more motivated. Just like many things in life, there is hardly ever a quick fix, sudden motivator, or anything like that. Motivation can come as an ‘ah -ha’ moment or come in the form of a brand-new way of looking at something differently to move you into action.

Inspiration comes from the Latin word moveo; indicating to move, agitate, provoke, or influence. Hence, the very first part of Inspiration originates from the Latin– ‘to move’ and the 2nd part, in its most literal form means ‘action’. The word motivation quite literally implies– To provoke or provoke into action.

As an example, if you want to be encouraged into slimming down, the motivation can often come from being confronted with a new viewpoint. You may catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror as looking overweight or may acknowledge you are having breathing or skin troubles, or somebody has made a disrespectful comment about you.

Whatever the reason, we are all encouraged in different situations. This motivation also originates from different locations too. A few people’s motivations can be intrinsic, suggesting that it is derived internally. This could be a frame of mind, belief or value that motivates us into action. Equally, motivation can originate from an extrinsic source and be the outcome of external forces.

Groups or people are motivated or influenced to act or alter through both non-conscious and conscious motives. Some people wait and wait to attempt and discover the ideal inspiration to make things occur however generally motivation comes from a deeper location. A place within. There is also the other alternative when something inspires a lot of people enough to take action and this is the magic pill (if you like) that provides them with the inspiration they require. And therein lies the catch– they do not know what the magic pill is to motivate them, so they do not know what it is or where to discover it till it emerges.

As a motivational speaker myself, when I deliver my masterclasses or workshops, I’m frequently approached to motivate others. It seems that other a lot of people are looking for somebody else to deliver the inspiration to them and somebody else has the secrets to make it occur. It could be argued that this is maybe why ‘motivational speaker’ is such a popular search term instead of ‘inspiring speaker’ sales speaker, keynote speaker or leadership speaker. Postponing the responsibility of motivation and handing it to another person, enables them to kick back and if they aren’t motivated– you can blame them somewhere else. Their self-talk could be “Well I wasn’t actually motivated by that” and as a result, very little changes.

The other risk of passing the responsibility to someone else is that you become reliant on that type of motivation. So, if you employ Duncan Stevens as a motivational speaker for your conference, sales-kick off, annual conference or corporate occasion once a year, you can end up falling under the trap of only being motivated once a year. If your motivation increase originates from an external source there is less sustainability in it unless you employ them to come and deliver more regular workshops, keynotes, or masterclasses.

So, whilst many customers do not employ Duncan to come in each week to keep their leaders and groups encouraged and equally many individuals can’t afford to pay a personal fitness instructor or nutritional expert or life coach every week, motivation has to come from within. Among the most effective ways to stay determined or create a culture of inspiration is to nurture it from within. This can be called self-motivation. Similarly so, we need to be able to distance our motivation levels from tangible objects around us. Self-talk can be extremely harmful to our inspiration levels. If you find yourself stating “Well there is no healthy food for sale here, I might as well simply buy some chips” or “I can’t connect with any of my clients as I do not have my phone to hand” then these are factors not to do things.

Inspiration then boils down to a way to range yourself from these things or perhaps reframe them. Even much better would be to plan for these prospective problems and take a healthy lunch with you or connect with customers through e-mail as options.

I think inspiration can be produced internally. You understand what encourages you. You could be driven by cash, food, an alcoholic drink, winning at something or more. Using those drivers that currently exist within you can be incredibly inspiring. Jeopardizing these can be an effective driver.

Duncan Stevens is an expert motivational speaker and influence and persuasion authority. He describes among the 6 concepts of persuasion as being scarcity. A lot of people say yes to things that are rare, scarce, or diminishing in availability. If you use that same influence frame of mind to yourself and don’t allow yourself to delight in one of your pleasures or satisfaction in life, then this can be a very potent type of motivation or self-motivation.

For a lot of people, they need that initial increase, charge, injection of inspiration to get them begun. This gets them looking at things in a new way and understanding what is really possible when you push yourself. This is what Duncan is employed for as a motivational speaker. Alongside fantastic material, great deals of actionable takeaways, and an instructional and motivating speech Duncan is an extremely searched for global motivational speaker and keynote speaker.
