CBD is taken from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant and then processed into CBD products. Popular CBD products include CBD gummies, CBD supplements, CBD oil, and tinctures.
Marijuana is also part of the cannabis sativa plant family. Unlike hemp, this plant contains high concentrations of THC and is usually used for recreational purposes.
The marijuana flower is often smoked but THC can also be extracted from flowers, leaves, and stalks. It can be made into gummies, edibles, oils, or concentrates for a dab pen.
With all that said, the answer to the question “can you purchase CBD with THC” is yes. Although CBD is derived from the hemp plant, which contains higher concentrations of CBD, it still contains trace amounts of THC.
Most hemp contains less than .3% THC. This is not enough to produce a psychoactive effect, but it does have a symbiotic effect that may be more beneficial than CBD without THC.
Whether or not your CBD contains THC depends on whether the product is full-spectrum CBD or isolate.
Full-spectrum CBD is CBD that contains THC. Indeed, full-spectrum CBD contains all of the cannabinoids and other compounds that are available in the cannabis plant from which it’s derived. It’s believed that all of these chemical entities work together in a symbiotic relationship to deliver the most benefits.
Isolate CBD is only CBD. Products that use isolate CBD do not contain any of the other cannabinoids or chemical entities found in the cannabis plant. This is a benefit to anybody who does not wish to use THC.
Not only can you purchase CBD with THC, but this is actually the norm. That’s because even hemp plants from which most CBD is derived contain trace amounts of THC. There’s not enough THC in hemp to produce a psychoactive effect and its presence may actually be beneficial.
