Decorating Your Bathroom: 7 Design Tips for Revamping Your Bathroom

It is one thing to have a bathroom that functions well and is acceptably clean, but it is another thing if your bathroom is also designed beautifully—a bathroom fit for a 5-star hotel. If you would have a bathroom that is not only functional but also relaxing, you would find that showers and baths are not just tasks that you do for hygiene. Your bathroom can also be your haven where you can have a relaxing time for yourself. Are you one of those who wish to achieve a relaxing hotel-like or spa-like bathroom? If you are, then you have come to the right place! Here are a few tips for decorating your bathroom

1. Install proper storage

Most bathrooms, if not all, tend to look like a mess because they are a mess. Especially if you have a tiny bathroom, your bathroom necessities can be all over the place. All your bath and shower needs may just be left scattered everywhere. This can be a major eyesore, and even dangerous. Who knows? Someone may step on scattered bottles of your bath gel and slip on the floor. If you want to make your bathroom look more presentable, you should clear out the mess first by having efficient storage. Try over the toilet storage racks and other creative space-saving ideas.

2. Improve your lighting

Changing your lighting can go a long way more than you think. It can make your bathroom look more elegant from being a bland and messy one. For a more budget-friendly bathroom revamp, you can change your lighting fixtures. Try out lots of modern lighting fixtures in the market like installing pendants and light bars. Choose warm light, too, instead of cool light for a more relaxing ambiance. A relaxing ambiance can definitely make your bath nights into pampering nights!

3. Add some wall art

Your bathtime does not need to be too bland and boring. Decorate your bathroom with wall art! If you are worried about the painting being ruined by water, it may help to know that treated canvas can survive just fine in your bathroom. Paintings with such canvas can be water-resistant. It is affordable, too! Choose big wall art for more drama. You can visit your local printing shop to print a good photo of wall art. You can even choose the option for them to print in canvas and laminate it for it to be waterproof.

4. Stick some faux tiles

If you are already sick of your bland tiles, you can improve this for a cheaper option. Cover your old tiles with some adhesive tiles with a modern or contemporary design. Its design can also be whatever you want! With adhesive tiles, you can choose a wider variety of tile designs that you cannot even find in actual tiles—or if you could, it can be truly pricey. You can remove adhesive tiles if you no longer like their design without ruining your old tiles.

5. Revamp your hardware and faucet

For a more improved bathroom, the key is to also change the hardware of your bathroom like its towel bars, drawers, faucet, and more! Without completely changing the architecture of your bathroom and breaking down a wall or two, you can have an entirely new and improved bathroom. Changing bathroom fixtures can make it look new. This can seem difficult and laborious, but it is easier than it seems. It is as simple as removing the old hardware and replacing it with the new hardware that you have chosen.

6. Add new flooring for your powder room

Your bathroom will look more glamorous with new flooring in your powder room area. For something affordable, durable, and easy to install, try checking out vinyl flooring. This can pass off as real wood because it looks just as similar, down to its texture. Vinyl flooring can also be waterproof. This makes it even more desirable and fit for your bathroom.

7. Changing your bathroom towels and rugs

Your choice of rugs and towels can also make or break the design of your bathroom. It can either make your bathroom look cheap, or it can also make it look more sophisticated. Get rid of tacky and mismatched towels. Choose the ones that are soft and fluffy that match the interior design of your bathroom. You can also use your towels and rugs to add accent to your bathroom.
