Desert Safari Dubai Make Travel Plans for the Dubai Desert

A trip to Dubai wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Dubai Desert Safari, but there are so many packages and activities to choose from that it can be hard to plan the best desert safari. So, we put together a list of our best tips, including when to go, what to wear, and what to do when you get there.

When and where to go

The best time to go on a desert safari in Dubai is between November and March. This is the best time to go to the desert because it is neither too hot nor too cold. Although it is possible to visit the desert in the summer, you shouldn’t. Temperatures can get up to 40 degrees, and there isn’t much shade. The optimum time to visit the desert between April and October is exceptionally early in the morning or very late at night.

What to Do and How to Do It

A desert safari is a great way to check off some of the most exciting things on your list. Everyone can find something they like to do, like quad biking, sandboarding, riding camels, or driving dune buggies. Desert safaris are great because you can go at your own pace. If sports that give you a rush are too exciting for you, you can choose a tour company that offers calm evenings with Arabian dining and shisha under the stars. On most safari tours, you can expect to eat traditional foods like Falafel, chicken, and vegetable wraps. You can also look forward to belly dancing, a falcon show, and getting your hands painted with henna.

What to Wear

There are no restrictions on attire, unlike at malls. However, there are a few things you can do to maximize your comfort level. The desert may be warm even during the colder months, so loose-fitting cotton clothing is recommended. If you wear sneakers, you will likely get a lot of sand in them. Flat sandals are best. A hat could help protect your head from the sun, and if you plan to go in the evening, a pashmina would be excellent. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen to protect yourself from the desert heat, especially in winter.

Sleepout in the Open Sky

Many tour companies offer tourists the chance to spend the night in a real nomad’s tent if they want to do something extra special. You can set up a camp in the desert at night and feel the desert’s magic. The campsite is made to look and feel like a real place in Arabia. You will get to try a variety of local foods, get tea and coffee, and have the chance to dress up in traditional Arabian clothes.

How Much Money to Spend

Because there are so many tours, prices can vary, but the average cost of a desert safari, which includes dinner, is about 50 Dhs. Suppose, however, that you choose a luxury vacation package with all the extras (such as private transportation in antique Range Rovers or Mercedes G Wagons, champagne upon arrival, and a cooking class before dinner). In that case, each person can expect to pay about 900 Dhs. Whether you choose the VIP experience with a more private meal or the cheap desert safari, you’ll leave with a lot of memories.

How to Get There

Desert safaris are the most accessible and affordable as part of a group tour, and many companies offer this service. This can make you feel safer if you travel alone or if this is your first time in Dubai and you don’t know your way around. Sunset and sunrise are two of the most popular times for a desert tour, but no matter when you go, you’re sure to get some beautiful photos, so don’t forget your camera.
