Duck Hunting Basics: A Brief Introduction

Waterfowl hunting is a unique niche of hunting that requires its own set of skills and specialties. It is the practice of shooting ducks and geese for sport. However, it is more than just a spot. Duck hunting contributes largely to wildlife management and habit conservation.

Tips and Tricks

With any sport or activity, there are always tips and tricks here and there to help you achieve success. Part of duck hunting is calling the birds to lure them in. Different ducks respond to different calls, so practice your duck calls before getting out in the field.

Another tip that has been helpful for duck hunters is to bring a dog along. Retriever dogs are known for being able to retrieve ducks in hard-to-access places. Your dog will need training and practice but could be a great asset to your hunting experience once they are.
