Explaining Google’s Upcoming Algorithm Changes for June 2021

Part of the new Page Experience ranking system is a platform called Web Vitals. As explained on their site, Web Vitals is “an initiative by Google to provide unified guidance for quality signals that are essential to delivering a great user experience on the web.” Web Vitals are broken down into Core Web Vitals, which are the most important benchmarks for site success. Other Web Vitals are secondary “supplemental” factors in consideration of user experience. Currently, the three most important Core Web Vitals are loading, interactivity, and visual stability. 

So what can site owners, web admins, and developers do to ensure their sites exceed these standards for Page Experience? Google has put together a collection of tools to measure crucial Web Vitals, like Google Search Console’s new Core Web Vitals Report, or Google’s Page Speed Insights, which breaks down a site’s loading time and what changes can be made to improve it. You can also test a site’s mobile friendliness through Google Search Console. Of course, many developers already optimize for some of these factors.
