It was created because Saghian saw that many people needed assistance during the period, and Fashion Nova was able to provide this assistance.

Fashion Nova and Cardi B announced on April 8, 2020, that they will be giving out $1,000 every hour for the next 1,000 hours through the Fashion Nova Cares program. The goal was to give out $1,000 to assist 1,000 people that were impacted negatively by the coronavirus outbreak.

Cardi B has partnered with Fashion Nova several times before this. She constantly wears Fashion Nova pieces and uploads her pictures to her Instagram page, prompting more fans to go and shop the looks on the Fashion Nova site. She also released two major collections with the brand that sold out in hours and made millions for the brand.

She talked about the coronavirus as it spread faster, and even made a video that was remixed into a song and went viral. In a press release, Cardi B said, “Everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Apart from the partnership with Saghian, she announced on Twitter that she will be donating the royalties from the song that went viral to help people with financial difficulties during the period.

How People Applied for the Fashion Nova Cares Giveaway

After the announcement, thousands of people started applying to the Fashion Nova Cares program by filling a form on the site.

To apply, they filled in their contact information and gave reasons why they should be picked in 250 words.

Cardi B, on May 3, announced that they had reached half of the goal. They had given out $500,000 to help 500 people.

Apart from helping 1,000 people financially during the period, Saghian understood that many more people could be helped. If they couldn’t help more people financially, they could help by keeping them safe from the virus.

So, Fashion Nova joined other fashion brands and started producing nose masks in April 2020. This was after the CDC announced that people could wear simple clothing nose masks due to the shortage of medical-grade nose masks for hospital workers.

Many people could not follow the guidelines to make homemade nose masks from elastic and an old shirt. They preferred buying their masks online.
