How To Connect Your Fountains With An Electronic Water Level Sensor

Water fountains are a great way to create additional water features in your garden. However, it can be difficult to know when it’s time to refill the fountain if you don’t have an electronic water level sensor attached. This article explains how to install an electronic water level sensor with a few helpful tips along the way!

What is an electronic water level sensor?

An electronic level sensor is a device that is used to measure the depth of water in an aquifer or well. It usually consists of a transmitter and receiver, with a float that moves up and down due to changes in water level. The transmitter sends an electronic signal to the receiver, which displays the current water level.

How do I install an electronic water level sensor?

Installing an electronic water level sensor on your fountain is a simple process that can help ensure accurate water levels and prevent issues such as clogged filters or overflowing tanks. Follow these steps to connect the sensor and get started: 

Remove the old water level sensor. On most fountains, the sensor is mounted on a bracket near the top of the fountain. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that hold it in place. Once the bracket is removed, you can lift off the sensor. 

Connect the new sensor to the fountain using the included wire connectors. Make sure that the black (LO) and white (HI) wires are connected to corresponding wires on the sensor, and tighten the screws that hold it in place. 

Replace the bracket and screws, and reattach the sensor to your fountain. Be sure to replace any plastic or metal pieces that were removed during installation, such as the water level indicator light cover.
