How To Turn Off Safe Mode on Tumblr

In this era of digitization, users of Instagram, Facebook is on the boom. It has become a great deal that ig likes and followers matter to the world for the users. Such platforms enjoy their popularity by bridging the gap between the content creators and the consumers. Every second, thousands of contents get uploaded and viewed across the world.

One of all the social platforms, Tumblr, swept the world with its number of users. This microblogging site came way back. But today stands nowhere in lines of popularity. So, what went wrong?

The regular users of Tumblr are well aware of the sensitive post warning they come across. No one likes interruption while scrolling through their feed. This recent introduction of safe mode has surely irked its users. Previously known for its easily accessible 18+ rated or ‘Not Suitable for Work’(NSFW) content, its image has changed drastically. Advertisers’ serious objections and Play store ban led Tumblr to cut out on such content.

Firstly, a safe mode was introduced to filter off all the content unsuitable for consumption for kids and young adults. It was, as default, turned on. This mode turned out successful in filtering almost all content falling in the NSFW category. Moreover, to the agony of all who were regular consumers of NSFW content, it became a non-disabling feature on nearly all available platforms.

So, now what should one do to bypass the new hurdle of safe mode?

  • Desktop/PC

  1. Open Tumblr’s webpage on the browser and log in.
  2. Select the “Use password to log in” option. Alternatively, choose “Send me a magic link” to log in via a one-time link using mail.
  3. After logging in successfully, you will be directed to the dashboard of your account.
  4. While browsing, as a flagged post appears, a warning due to an on the safe mode will pop up.
  5. Click on “Go to my dashboard,” present right under the warning.
  6. On the dashboard right-hand side, the NSFW content you saw will appear.
  7. Select “View this Tumblr.”
  • iOS/ Android

  1. Download the official application of Tumblr via Play store in Android or AppStore for iOS.
  2. Log in to your Tumblr account.
  3. Click on the search icon right next to the home button at the bottom bar.
  4. Surf the app for NSFW content.
  5. On a flagged post, again warning as same as when opened via desktop would pop up
  6. Click on the “View this Tumblr” option to see the blog.

Although they work every time, they have to be done repeatedly for every flagged content post login. It renders the method rather complicated. Check out reputed sites without an account wherein you would be informed about the site you search for NSFW posts. Then just simply by toggling off the Safe mode and reloading, to see up the content

For the users who are quite active social media users besides Instagram, surely learning how to add a link to Tumblr bio would be great.
