How Verification Works on Instagram

Over the past few months, Instagram has overhauled the process for applying for verification on Instagram and Facebook. Here you can find out what has changed and what you should consider when submitting your verification request.

What does “verification” mean?

By being verified, users can rest assured that the reputable accounts they subscribe to or search for are whom they say they are. So you can tell if an account is authentic and relevant. There are people who tends to buy Instagram Followers to quickly get to the mark of 10k followers. Verification badges do not constitute a public endorsement by us, nor are they an indication of the importance of an account.

As part of our ongoing work towards equality, Instagram has revised our verification process as some people have been unclear as to what verification is for, how accounts are verified, and whether verification will make an account treated differently on Instagram and Facebook.

Therefore, over the past few months, Instagram has made the verification request form available in the app more user-friendly. Our changes are intended to give users a better understanding of what Instagram need for verification. In general, Instagram has made the requirements more transparent. These requirements apply equally to Facebook and Instagram.

How can I get verified?

Verification is conditional on you complying with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you want to apply for verification – this can also be done via the app – the following requirements apply:

  • Your account must represent a real person, registered business, or organization.
  • Your account must be the sole presence of you or your business. Accounts of known creatures or objects, such as pets or publications, can also be verified.
  • Only one account can be verified per person or company. Exceptions apply to accounts that are available in multiple languages.
  • Your account must be public and have a bio, profile picture and at least one post.
  • Your account must represent an Instagram-known person, brand, or thing that is often searched for.

What does the verification say and what does it NOT say?

To put it simply: verification stands for authenticity and relevance. It does not constitute a public endorsement by us. Just because an account is verified does not mean that our systems give preferential treatment to its content. Instagram determine whether an account should be verified based on reputable press coverage and by assessing an individual’s cultural influence. This is to ensure our impartiality in the verification process. For example, Instagram investigates whether the person is currently on everyone’s lips in their community. Similarly, to get more engagement at the content, people also buy Instagram Likes because it is a quick and easy way. Has it perhaps gone viral recently?

Unfortunately, Instagram also knows that verified accounts can pose a security risk for the account holder. Hackers could try to take control of a verified account to exploit the badge (and the hard-earned community of folloInstagramrs behind it). That’s why Instagram recommend two-factor authentication for all verified accounts. It protects you from hacker attacks. HoInstagramver, always watches out for attempts at fraud and imitation.

Can I transfer my verification badge to another account?

Verified accounts cannot change the account name, nor transfer their verification to another account. The blue badge shows users that an account has been revieInstagramd by us and Instagram has been able to confirm its authenticity.

What if Instagram becomes aware of a suspicious or malicious verification?

If Instagram determines that verification has been improperly obtained or someone is selling verified accounts to others, Instagram will take appropriate action. Instagram conduct regular spot checks on and off Instagram and remove malicious users from our platform.

Instagram constantly updates Instagram and Facebook to improve the user experience for everyone. Instagram hope this post has Instagramred all of your verification questions.
