Claudia Hoyser is the name of the girl with the cowboy hat on the Hoyser Country Blend coffee bag. She is planting deep roots in the hearts of people all over the world and sharing her two big loves, coffee and music, with a fiery enthusiasm for both.
Long before the formal brand launch, Hoyser Country Blend was still in the works. It all began with pots of espresso being served four to five times a day at GFI Recording Studios, where Claudia has spent the previous few years engaged.
The recording studio has a history and reputation for bringing together unique talent for music and coffee and toasting to the “GFI Espresso Club!” When Claudia was introduced to GFI, the “Espresso Club” discovered that they had a new member in no time.
Claudia and her team initially decided to incorporate their coffee products into their work since they saw coffee as a part of their personality and character. In a Facebook video series dubbed “Hoyser Country Monday!” they frequently hide an antique espresso pot and several cups in each of their weekly live music videos.
The popular country music video series has had over 42 million organic views and has proven to be a great brand development tool. Claudia says it provides their fans a fun thing to seek for each week, almost like a “Where’s Waldo” sort of game. It’s sometimes an apparent discovery, and other times they shake it up and have to go frame by frame to find it, but it’s in all but one of the over 50 videos!
Those highlighted tiny coffee pots, by coincidence, attracted the eye of the co-owner of a live music club where Claudia was performing. He and Claudia’s manager started discussing the Hoyser Country Monday video series throughout the performance.
He turned out to have spent his whole life in the coffee industry, in addition to being the proprietor of a live music venue, and the threaded coffee pots in the videos became the instant focus of the conversation. That’s when the concept for a coffee business started to sprout.
Before they knew it, the recording studio was receiving a shipment of fragrant coffee beans, industrial brewing equipment, grinders, airpots, thermometers, and various roasts and grinds for us to try!
In retrospect, all it took was a lifelong coffee industry guru, an artist manager – studio owner with a long unofficial coffee club history, and a passionate singer-songwriter who shared a mutual love of music and coffee to turn a chance conversation into a full-fledged brand that is now sold in over nine countries.
This is what it took to absolutely convince Claudia and her team that they had what it took to start on this endeavor, even though they had never sold coffee before. They had creatives, businesspeople, coffee experts, a branding platform, and a lot of energy to navigate the waters.
They recently exhibited Hoyser Country Blend at a culinary exhibition in New York. They were the topic of the event because they took an entirely new approach to showcase their product, employing entertainment-industry methods to promote a premium coffee. Claudia now looks forward to having some fun with the brand and see what works for them.
According to Claudia, the Hoyser Country Blend wants its customers to know how much they care, and giving out autographed and customized coffee bags is one of the best ways to do that. They have already garnered an overwhelmingly positive response on the autographed bags, and they intend to keep doing it for as long as they can.
The company’s most incredible source of inspiration has been growth and reaction. They have already had to buy extra bags in such a short period of time! Seeing the brand take off and grow into something greater than they could have dreamed of is what keeps them going.
