Just Before You Walk Down The Aisle, Is That Person Right For You?

One of the most memorable events in one’s life is the wedding day. Taking the plunge into marriage is a life-changing step that will go on to define how you’ll spend the rest of your life— in happiness or misery, it all depends on your choice of partner.

Yes! We have a wedding to plan but why not leave it to the professionals who will save you from last minute rush, save you money and allow you the time to plan for your honeymoon?  If it sounds like a catch quickly check out wedding chapel East TN.

Before you pick the date and send your budget to the event planners, why not take a minute to reflect if your choice of partner is the one you really want to spend the next 50,60,70 or more years of your life with?

It is important to have this reflection because of the alarming rise in divorce across the country. For your sake, I have prepared a checklist for you to go over, perhaps for the last time.

In this list you won’t find any of the superficial traits like the weight of his bank balance or how high the person ranks on the handsome/beautiful rankings. These are vanities that won’t matter once you start living together, so let’s get right to it…

  • Someone who can admit his/her wrongdoings: it is impossible not to hurt each other in your union as lifelong partners. But you may never come to enjoy the bliss of marriage if either of you can’t apologize when in the wrong and when the other is also unwilling to forgive. Sooner than later, cracks would start showing in your newly moulded marriage.
  • The flames of romance can’t be kept alive all through your marriage but you’d want to be with someone who is not totally stiff. If you are dating someone who occasionally sends flowers, sweet messages or takes you on a date it is more likely they continue such even after marriage.
  • You don’t want to be with a lazy partner. It is frustrating and may prevent you from enjoying your dream life after marriage. Your partner must be willing to work hard to  contribute to your family’s financial security.
  • Be with someone who is on good terms with your family members, especially your parents. It’d be a disaster if your parents do not like your choice of partner. Being with someone who honours your parents signals the person holds you in high regard.
  • Is the person reliable? Fickleness and disloyalty is a major reason for crumbling marriages around the world. If your partner is always jumping from one side attraction to another while you are still dating, it is enough evidence that they’d continue long after marriage. By the way, you may unknowingly contract a sexual disease from them as a result of their promiscuousness.

So before your old man walks you down the aisle, look again, is he really the right person for you?
