Keeping your organisations IT Secure

Giant corporations and new companies are all equally at risk of data theft. At best such occurrences can cause a minor disruption, and at worst, the damage is irreparable. However, this does not mean the situation is unavoidable. With proper measures in place, you can protect your IT from all external threats.

If you want to ensure your business’s continuity, then you must invest in the right services. See how cloddy helps organisations keep safe & secure. To get you moving in the right direction, here is a list of things you can do to protect your company:

Draft a Strategy

Rather than having an obscure concept of data protection, draw out a detailed plan. List all the necessary procedures and the actions one must take to protect data. Moreover, also write down what steps you would need to take if a breach occurs. Make sure your list is as detailed and exhaustive as possible.

Try to update the list regularly and always keep it close. This approach ensures that you can carry out swift action without making irrational or rash decisions if you ever find yourself in a state of emergency.

Protect Against Malware

Malicious software can take over your system without your knowledge. It can cause a vast amount of data damage. Therefore, it is pertinent to protect your system against such software. Some crucial steps you can take to protect your system are:

  1. Enable the firewall of your onboard router.
  2. Protect your PC against hacking or suspicious websites by installing Antivirus.
  3. Add software to prevent spamming of email.

Update Regularly

Hackers usually attack older versions of systems as they are more vulnerable. Opt for regular automatic updates. Set all applications and managements to background update to further safeguard your system.

Secure Passwords

Passwords protect your data, but a weak one can fortify it. Make sure your passwords are complex. Change them regularly and try to embed as many special characters as sanely possible. Ensure that your passwords aren’t easily guessable.

Hold Background Checks

Be aware of who you hire. Carry out background checks on the details of each new employee. Keep an eye out for change in the behavior of pre-existing employees too. Safeguarding from within is about as crucial as preserving from outside.

Use Cloud

If you can’t keep up with all the security requirements, go for cloud services instead. Reputable providers who provide services like Microsoft365 are the best answer. Although not recommended for corporates, it is a good approach for small businesses.
