Malang- the cascade of joy

Malang is the second-largest city in East Java; the temperate climate, striking, serene countryside panorama, clean cobbled streets dotted with historical monuments attracts tourists from all over the world. It is an active trade centre beside the river Brantas and an admired destination for travelers. Malang used to be a Dutch retreat; many government buildings, churches, and houses bear the Dutch architecture’s colonial traits. The rich history of this vibrant city dates back to the 8th century, the regime of Singhasari and Kanjuruhan. You can see many ancient Hindu temples scattered all over the city, some dates back to the 12th century.

Take a trek

Malang is becoming a global tourist destination for many reasons. It would be best if you spent a few nights to feel the air of this ancient city. Mount Bromo is the most dominant and popular tourist attraction. Mists encase this mountain, the first golden rays of sun fall upon this terrain, making it mystical and miraculous, and the panorama will be unforgettable. The varied countryside of the national park makes it more spectacular and stunning. If you like trekking and mountain terrain, Mount Semeru is another destination. This volcanic mountain is the highest volcano cap on the island of Java. The word Semeru means the abode of gods in Buddhist and Hindu culture. You have to trek for a minimum of two nights to reach the mountain.

Gateway to mountains

After back-breaking, hectic trekking, you need a cozy, comfortable bed and a furnished room to rest. Hotels in Malang provide all the comforts and amenities for a pleasant stay. Every room has a flat-screen LCD/plasma TV, air-conditions, and wardrobe. The attached bath is fitted with bathware and appropriate toiletries. The housekeeping is done every morning to keep the room tidy and clean. The rooms are airy, the staffs are polite, and the complementary breakfast is ample. Many hotels are located near Mount Bromo from where you can start the journey and return to rest. You can avail of the deluxe double or twin rooms, roughly around 20 square meters, fitted with air condition and wooden floors, telephones, and wardrobes with lock. If you cancel your booking within the stipulated time, 100% is refunded. Cancellation after a predetermined time, a fee is deducted.

Visit the waterfall

After taking a day’s rest, travel to Coban Sewu waterfall. The cascade is located in a small village among the moorland of Java. By car, it would take around two hours from East of Malang. If you want to reach the deep gorge’s cavity, you need to climb down through bamboo ladders. After climbing down for twenty minutes, you reach the bottom of the ravine. Once you come there, you will get a spectacular sweeping view of the cascade. The waterfall is around 30 meters wide and runs down from the cliff 60 meters high. The current on the gorge is strong. From the spot, you can feel the cool breeze, lush height; the surrounding is quiet, serene, and blissful. The songs of the birds, the rhythm of your heartbeat are the sound in heaven.
