The time you spend communicating goes down drastically. Setting aside time to talk about your day can be a great way to maintain your communication and not get lost and be susceptible to a communication gap. While watching shows together can be a great way to relax, it can also be a deterrent to the emotional connection.

4. Alone time

In the previous part, we explained that together time is essential, and while that still stands, you do need some downtime. Always being with your significant other can lead to a decline in your relationship as a whole. Although you and your partner have a single room for rent, you should carve out a small space to read or just for some downtime. In the beginning, it might be fascinating to live with your significant other, but over time you do need your own space to retain your individuality. This place doesn’t always have to be within your room’s four walls but can be outside with friends.

5. Space for your stuff

Last but not least, before you move in, you will need to make an inventory of your stuff. You may not have the space to accommodate all your belongings, and thus, you will need to decide which belongings to be kept and let go. Keep in mind that most of the moving companies charge based on weight, so it may be a smart decision to carry minimal stuff and furnish once you’re in your space.

You may redecorate together and shop. Or you may rent furniture that you can keep changing as per your convenience. This would help you optimize the space.
