Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Contact Lenses Safely

Although more people are now wearing contact lenses, and most of them do it without any difficulties or health effects, keep in mind that if you use contact lenses, there are many health problems that require more care. 

This is especially important if you are new to contact lenses and have not worn them before. Most of the steps described here are very simple and quick and can drastically improve the hygiene of contact lenses, thereby reducing the risk of infection. 

How to safely remove contact lenses  

You must take the same precautions when removing contact lenses. This simple procedure will help you quickly, easily and easily eliminate contact with a minimal chance of complications, such as a nightmare for anyone who brings the lens to the eye!  

Clean hands

Make sure you do not have soap, cream, toothpaste or anything else when you touch contact lenses on your hands. When installing the lens, it is important to clean your hands when removing them to minimize the risk of contamination or other particles in your eyes. 

Therefore, the first thing you need to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water, making sure that everything is washed so that it does not fall into the eyes.  

Open your eyes

Using the left hand on the right eye, and vice versa, pull the upper eyelid up. Then lower the lower eyelid with the middle finger of the other hand. Expose the eyecup so that you can hold the lens securely.   

Move The Lens Away From Your Iris

Place another finger in the middle of the contact and move it away from the iris. It may be beneficial to look away in the opposite direction.   

Pinch And Remove The Lens

Finally, place your thumb on the other side of the lens and Pinch on it to fold it and ensure it moves away from your eyes. Now it must be completely separated from the eyeball. Place the lens in a safe place and repeat on the other side before washing and storing both. Repeat this process for the second contact lens. To avoid misunderstandings and confusion in lenses, always begin with your right eye     

After removing the lens from your eyes, place it in your hand and rinse the dirt thoroughly. You can gently rub the lens with your finger from the inside towards the outer edge. Do this on both sides of the contact lens. Wash the lens and place it in a storage container.    

After you remove the lens, what you do with it depends on the type of lens and the instructions of the lens manufacturer. However, as a rule, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If the lens is disposable, dispose of it after use. Do not think that they are trying to get more money by buying fresh lenses every day. 

Although this may be true, the reuse of disposable lenses is not reliable.    If the goal is reusable, make sure you do not leave it on the counter until the next morning. Clean or sterilize the lens using the enclosed solution, and always keep the lens in the proper contact housing of the lens.  Removing contact lenses should not be difficult and can be a quick and easy task if you know the right technique.
