Roobet Cup 2022: Expectations And Favorites

A new CS:GO A-Tier tournament will begin this week. From June 22nd to 30th, we can enjoy the super week of the Roobet Cup championship, where the best 16 teams will compete online for a $250,000 prize. The tournament itself is divided into stages as seen below:

  • Group Stage (June 22nd to 26th)
  • Quarterfinals (June 27th to 28th)
  • Semifinals (June 29th)
  • Grand final (June 30th)

All these matches will be broadcasted both on YouTube and Twitch channels accordingly. It is worth noting that watching live CS:GO games is key if you are interested in betting. What is also important is to know the level of players both individually and as a group. Today, we will try to predict the position of each team in this event and generically share our expectations. More precise information you can get from the upcoming cs go tournaments webpage, including:

  • Upcoming matches
  • Match results
  • Group play and Playoff brackets
  • Final places and prize distribution
  • Player/team records

As for the qualifying teams for Roobet Cup, there are such popular names in CS:GO as FaZe  Clan, ENCE, Cloud9, FURIA, BIG, Astralis, Imperial, Outsiders, MOUZ, Movistar Riders, forZe, Entropiq, Eternal Fire, OG, Complexity, and 9z.

Expectations and favorite teams

All CS:GO tournaments, like any other sporting event, are full of surprises. Although there are always favorites, it is difficult to predict the position of each team and whether or not they will be able to get to the playoffs. Nevertheless, we try to make a brief preview of this Roobet Cup 2022 event.

The Big Favorites

It is almost impossible to imagine any international CS:GO event without s1mple and Natus Vincere. Although the Ukrainian organization is not going through its best moment, aggravated by the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, they should have no problems, as a minimum, securing a place for playoffs in the Roobet Cup.

Another of the big favorites is FaZe, recent IEM champion Katowice, ESL Pro League 15, and Major PGL Antwerp. Ropz with his team has dominated the CS:GO scene since the beginning of the year and, without a doubt, they are favorites to get their pass and try to continue making history this season.

The Main Candidates

In this step we could include ENCE, Cloud9, and Outsiders. (Heroic, Outsiders and Team Vitality). These three teams can also be considered favorites due to the quality of their players and their performance in the beginning of the year.

The Finnish team made a great ESL Pro League and took 2nd place after losing to FaZe Clan in the grand final. Also, it is worth noting the work and talent of ENCE throughout IEM Dallas 2022. The team has reached the final playing with an outstanding stand-in Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski due to the absence of Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. Thus, ENCE should be in the top eight without problem.

Gambit’s former roster is re-riveting a title after a complicated start to the year both on the server and outside. With the arrival at Cloud9, caused mainly by the conflict in Ukraine, the results were impressive. At the beginning of June, Cloud9 was proclaimed champion of IEM Dallas.

Finally, the Russian organization is unknown at the sporting level. The Outsiders roster has also had a complicated start to the year due to the invasion, but, like Cloud9, they have plenty of quality for the target. It is the ideal time to show what they are capable of.

The Covers

The organizations of MOUZ, BIG, FURIA, Astralis, and OG are one step below the previous teams. Despite this, they are serious candidates for the first eight places of Roobet Cup prize distribution. Of these five, BIG is possibly the weakest due to the multiple changes in recent months. Astralis has to start carburizing after the return of Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir, while MOUZ, FURIA, and OG must establish a regular play to secure a place in the playoffs.

The Wildcards

It is very likely that one, or more, of the teams included in this list will get to the playoffs, although they have a complicated period. Imperial, Movistar Riders, forZe, Entropiq, Eternal Fire, Complexity, and 9z will have to give their best to defeat the teams mentioned above. Of these seven organizations, Complexity, forZe, and Entropiq could possibly be taken into account.
