Six rules of successful land development design

Whether you are interested in land development for a single-family, multi-family, retail, commercial, or industrial purpose you need a few simples to moderately complex land development rules to follow. Land development design is a detailed process that requires lots of planning and critical thinking.

 Land development is incomplete without a few basic engineering adjustments. Even the space that looks ready-to-use may leave you in question.

The plan that looks perfect on paper and the space that seems workable will always have some technical issues, that can only be resolved with engineering adjustments. The common technical issues are; sewer, water, transportation, storm, gas, telephone, electricity, and grading, etc.  You need to make these small engineering adjustments to find a cost-effective solution to your hurdles.

 

You have to listen to the land;

 

 A lot of us “totally” neglects that listening to the land contributes to successful development. So, carefully analyze what the land is offering and what your development will impact on the surroundings, whether it suits or go against the picture. Try avoiding mistakes and challenging situations to successfully develop a cost-effective solution.
