Great musicians produce masterpieces that evoke emotions and make the listeners vibe on them. Various artists around the globe produce tuneful music, making the listeners grove on them. California-based Jamaican music producer Sheldon Thaxter, famously known as ‘Killalmij,’ is one such example. He is amongst the rare ones who rose to the heights of fame with the release of his debut album, ‘Clock Tick Riddim’. His hit single melodic instrumental ‘Bubble Up’ from the album has gained 500K+ streams on spotify in a short time! Currently, he is working with Jay Crazie on his second project, the BUZZER RIDDIM, scheduled to be released this summer. Music runs in Killalmij’s family, and his older cousin is an artist for his first production. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he had a humble beginning. Growing up was a struggle, as his single mother raised him without any financial backing. He had to cross many hurdles before he marked his way into the industry. Not many people believed he was capable of creating melodious music to become an established producer. “My inspiration to become a musician are Oleada and Jay Crazie. When nobody believed in me, Jay did! Oleada did!” he says.

Killalmij’s passion led him to study music from a young age and fueled him with an intense internal desire to keep going. That’s why he thinks music inspires brains wired differently- unlike ordinary people. His love for music incites excitement for his projects, and so he starts them with a positive mindset. The music producer is well aware of the high competition in the Reggae/Dancehall arena and knows it takes a lot of self involvement, sacrifice, dedication and hard work. Dancehall music does not really have global recognition, and Reggae Music Grammy is handed out during the commercials in the ceremonies. Despite the damage caused by some of the immature musicians, his work stands out as he knows people adore creative and unique pieces that stand out. Now that he has captured a fan following, he continues producing quality melodies.

Sheldon Killalmij Thaxter has great regard for hardwork and hustle. Sharing his mantra of success, he said, “Hardwork is the key to success. However, you have to be happy and love the work you do to achieve it’. Killalmij doesn’t target a specific group of an audience when he works on a new project; instead, he goes with the universal approach. Looking at the broader perspective, he wants everyone to listen and love what he does. He defines himself as an ambitious person who has set no limits to his goals for the future. Even if he charts on Billboards, he won’t stop there! He would aim for something higher and beyond his previous best, breaking all previous bars and records.
