Tips For a Healthy Skin

Your skin provides the first line of defense against germs and bacteria. That is why it is important that you’re taking care of it just as you would with other parts of the body. There is no one skincare routine that could be said to be applicable to everyone. Even if you don’t have time for intensive care, you can still pamper by taking care of the basics. Here are some tips that will come in handy if you’re looking to have youthful and healthy skin.

Protection From The Sun

The first thing you’d want to make sure of is that your skin is always protected from the sun. Constant exposure to the sun could cause wrinkles, age spots, and even skin cancer.  For complete sun protection, you’ll have to make sure that you’re using sunscreen at any given time. There are a couple of products in the market that can also help with providing protection against the sun. You can check out Hajar Naturals – Pure Argan Oil if you’re looking for a natural solution. The sunscreen will need to be applied every two hours if you’ll be out in the sun for a while. You can also avoid UV rays by wearing protective clothing.

Stop Smoking

One of the best things you can do for the health of your skin is to quit smoking. Smoking will not only contribute to wrinkles but will make your skin look older. Smoking is known to constrict the blood vessels. This in turn restricts the free flow of oxygen and nutrients that are needed to replenish the skin. In addition to that, smoking could also put you at a higher risk of skin cancer.

Gentle Treatment

Your skin needs to be treated gently if it is to be healthy. That is why daily shaving and cleaning could take a toll on your skin. It is recommended that you’re limiting bathing time. Use warm water instead of hot. Experts also recommend going for mild cleansers instead of strong soaps for bathing. Using or layering multiple cleaning is not advisable as it could result in more clogs and breakouts.

Moisturize

You should moisturize at least twice a day. The best time to do it is when you immediately get out of the shower and when you’re about to go to bed. You should not be using lotions with heavy scents as they could easily irritate the skin.

Eating Healthy

Eating healthy will not help you look but also feel good. The effect will also be felt on the skin. A healthy diet is one that consists of lots of vegetables, lean proteins, and fruits. There are some studies that have shown that a diet that is rich in fish oil can help in promoting clear skin.

Manage Stress

There is nothing wrong with being stressed but the levels will have to be manageable so that it is not taking a toll on your health. Uncontrolled stress could result in sensitive skin. This will leave you susceptible to acne breakouts. In order to encourage healthy skin, you should manage stress. Engage in a workout and make sure you’re having enough sleep.

Hydrate

Nearly every expert you talk to will highlight the importance of drinking water to your skin. Ideally, you should be drinking a liter of water every day. Not only should you be taking a lot of water but should also be looking for products that have hydrating formulas.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating a couple of times a week will not be a bad idea as we lose 50 million skin cells every day. Dermatologists recommend getting exfoliating products with neutral PH levels. You shouldn’t just focus on the face but also the rest of the body.

Clean Your Makeup Brushes

This applies to the ladies that apply makeup on a regular basis. To avoid clogged pores and infections, you should be washing your foundation and concealer brushes at least once a week. For brushes that are used around the eyes, you can get away with washing them once a month.

Know Your Skin Type

Knowing your skin type will save you headaches and money. You’ll be aware of the type of products to get so as to ensure that your skin is always healthy. Sometimes the problems with the skin could come about as a result of using the wrong products. Your dermatologist should be able to help you in identifying the skin type and the right products to use.
