If you want to be successful, you have to make changes to your home life and adjust it to support your work schedule. Take Yourself and Your Dreams Seriously

This is very important. You are not just a dog trainer working with another company anymore. You are going to be CEO of your own dog-training company. And if you want to own a successful dog training business in the future, then you need to believe that you already own one. You need to discipline yourself and work on your goals with laser-sharp focus. If you are not disciplined about your work times, family lives, and other schedules, you will only be running around in circles and getting overwhelmed. Set a chunk of hours aside as your work hours, and don’t do anything else at that time. This way, you will be able to meet clients, get work done, and have some free time for yourself outside those work hours. If you don’t define your work hours, you will work all the hours you have in a day and still not get anything constructive.

Delegate Personal Tasks

Personal work requires time and energy. If possible, get someone else to do your personal tasks. Hire help to do your household chores, grocery shopping, laundry, or lawn mowing. You must learn to say no to things that take up too much of your time and are not related to your business. If you cannot say no, at least start saying “maybe”. This will save you considerable time as you won’t have to go to places or do things you don’t want to or can’t do. Remember, when you are always saying yes to people’s invitations, you agree to their plans and not yours. Like your work hours, plan out your free time to know exactly how much time you have and choose what invitations to agree to.

Find The Right Team Members

The right team members will take your dog training business a long way. It may take you some time to find team members that align with your business values and principles but don’t give up. Look for people with the right attitude, skillset, responsiveness, and passion so that they can run things for you behind the scenes. Define exactly what you are looking for in prospective team members. If need be, take tough decisions and let go of team members who just don’t fit the bill. You need to find a team with the same vision and interest in the job as you.

Focus On Activities That Will Bring You An Income

Make sure everything you do during your work time gets you an income. Don’t waste time on anything that will not give you returns. Research your target audience, spend time talking to your clients, inform them about your services, and deliver those services. Leave all other background tasks like making changes to your website or responding to potential client requests to your team members. This will help you earn revenue initially and will also keep you motivated to keep going.
