What are the Common Symptoms of COVID-19

Most people who are infected to COVID-19 feel mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

The virus can be easily transmitted via air when an infected person coughs or sneezes the droplets acts as a carrier of this virus.

In this article, we have discussed some common symptoms observed in COVID-19 patients.

Common Symptoms of Corona Virus

Fever

Fever is nothing but body temperature above normal. The normal temperature varies from person to person, but it is usually 98.6 F. Fever is not a disease. This is usually a sign that your body is trying to fight off an illness or infection.

If a person has a dry cough, they may have COVID-19 symptoms.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encourage people with these symptoms to stay away from home and others. A person should also wear a hat when other people are nearby.

In many cases, the symptoms disappear without special treatment.

Dry Cough

Cough clears the respiratory tracts. Coughs are of two types productive and unproductive. A productive cough produces mucus or mucus and removes it from the lungs. An unproductive cough also called a dry cough, does not produce mucus or mucus.

A dry or sometimes severe cough is a cough that does not show mucus or mucus. A dry cough can cause tickling and is usually caused by a sore throat.

A cold cough or the flu usually lasts a week or two, most of which go away after about three weeks. A viral cough can last for several (up to 8) weeks after a viral illness, while some coughs last longer and are usually a sign of a significant problem.

In adults and children, cough is defined as acute (short term) if you cough for up to 2 weeks.

In children, a 2-4 week cough is referred to as a prolonged acute cough. A cough older than four weeks is considered a chronic cough.

A dry cough is the main symptom of Covid-19, which occurs in many patients worldwide.

Fatigue

The general feeling of tiredness or lack of energy is called fatigue. People generally confuse fatigue with feeling down, but there is a big difference. It’s not like feeling lonely or sleepy. When you are tired, you have no motivation or energy. Drowsiness may be a symptom of fatigue, but it is not the same.

Fatigue is a common symptom of many diseases, the severity of which varies from mild to severe, such as a corona infection. The cause of fatigue may be as simple as choosing a lifestyle, such as Lack of exercise or inadequate nutrition.

However, the CDC has listed fatigue as the basic symptom of Covid-19.

Breathlessness

Breathlessness (also known as shortness of breath) refers to a feeling of breathlessness or difficulty in breathing. This is an extremely common symptom, but it can be both stressful and frightening to patients and healthcare professionals. Dyspnoea may occur in combination with other symptoms such as coughing, chest pain and fever. This can be due to various conditions that affect the lungs, heart and general circulation. In such cases, shortness of breath occurs due to a decrease in the level of oxygen in the blood, an increase in the level of carbon dioxide or only because of difficulty in enlarging the lungs. When a new coronavirus attacks the airways, shortness of breath becomes a common symptom of Covid-19.

However, this is a widespread problem and can be caused by various medical conditions such as emphysema, chronic airflow limitation, pneumonia (pneumonia), asthma, heart failure, dementia, multiple sclerosis and AIDS. Most cancer patients also have difficulty breathing.

CDC experts have published that most patients with Covid-19 complain of shortness of breath at the start of covid treatment. Because of this shortness of breath has become one of the most common symptoms of Covid-19.

Final Words

If you anyhow came into contact with an infected person or inhale the infected droplets, you can get infection too. It is advised to cover your nose and mouth and to maintain social distance as well. If you observe any symptoms contact a doctor immediately to protect yourself from Corona virus.
