What CBD Oil Will & Won’t Do For You

Unlike most fad and “miracle” products, CBD is one that has maintained and even grown in popularity over the years. While many assume that CBD is snake oil, research and various studies show just the opposite. CBD oil has been linked to all sorts of health benefits, and the list only seems to be getting longer. In fact, a recent study is looking at CBD as a possible treatment for COVID-19 symptoms, including acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).

With that said, more and more people have new found interest in what CBD oil can offer them. If you’re considering hopping on the CBD train, there are some things you’ll want to know ahead of time. This way you can set reasonable expectations when taking CBD oil or any other CBD product.

Keep reading to learn what CBD oil will and won’t do for you.

CBD  Will Improve Your Life

This may seem like a reach, but for some, CBD oil is a life-changing product. Take for instance those that suffer from anxiety and depression. CBD has shown to be effective in helping those who experience social anxietyas well as generalized anxiety disorder. It can also help those who experience depression as a result of low serotonin.

Aside from improving mental health, CBD oil can also help those who suffer from physical health conditions such as:

  • Chronic pain
  • Poor heart health
  • Inability to sleep
  • Various skin conditions (ie. ache, psoriasis, etc.)

For many, CBD is much more than a mood booster. It can relieve pain that has tormented someone for years. Or it can help a struggling single parent who just needs better sleep at night to be more productive and successful in and outside of the home.

CBD Oil Won’t Get You High

One of the biggest misconceptions about CBD oil is that it will get you high. However, CBD and THC are two very different cannabinoids. While many want to compare them as sibling compounds, they’re more like cousins.

THC is known for its psychoactive properties. It causes users to get high and feel euphoric. It also increases heart rate and can even cause paranoia and anxiety. On the other hand, CBD offers very different side effects.

CBD is known for its calming properties, promoting a sense of relaxation and balance. When taken, CBD oil can reduce stress and anxiety. The cannabinoid can also offer pain relief, better sleep, and many other benefits.

CBD Oil Will Offer Relief With Minimal Symptoms

Unlike over-the-counter and prescription treatment options, CBD oil has very few side effects that users need to worry about. What’s even better is that many of these symptoms can be avoided by using only high quality CBD oil at an appropriate dose.

Some side effects that have been linked to CBD oil include:

  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea
  • Drowsiness
  • Reduced appetite

If you experience any of these benefits, the best thing to do is to reduce your dosage or stop taking CBD oil for a few days. This gives your body enough time to remove all traces of CBD from the bloodstream so that you can start fresh.

The most serious side effect to be aware of is CBD’s potential interaction with certain medications. For instance, CBD has shown to negatively interact with blood thinners, sedatives, antipsychotics, and others. If you’re taking any prescription medications, you’ll want to get medical clearance from your doctor before adding CBD oil to your daily routine.

CBD Oil Won’t Offer Immediate Relief

While it may seem like a miracle product, CBD isn’t something that will magically work the minute you take it. As with any other supplement, it takes time in order to feel the effects of CBD oil. You won’t get the best experience unless you’re using a high quality product at the right dosage.

So how long can you expect for it to take until you feel the full effects? This is highly dependent on the dose, your body, and the condition you’re treating. Until you find your sweet spot, the side effects won’t be as evident. However, once you find the appropriate dose that your body needs, you’ll feel better than ever. It can take a few weeks of low and slow dosing before you find the perfect amount for you.

Once you’ve figured out your sweet spot, the condition you’re trying to treat will also play a role in how noticeable relief is, and how soon. For things like stress and anxiety, you may feel calmer and more relaxed after just a few uses.

If you’re using CBD oil to treat pain, it can take a little longer for CBD to get to work on reducing inflammation. The key is to be patient and give the product time to work before giving up on it.

CBD Won’t Get You in Legal Trouble

Though not the sexiest part of CBD oil, it pays to understand the legalities behind buying, using, and possessing CBD. On the federal level, CBD products are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as the product is made using CBD-derived hemp and contains less than 0.3% THC.

While CBD has been legalized federally, you will want to be aware of the state and local regulations that may also apply to you. The experience of buying CBD oil inIllinois versus buying CBD oil in Hawaii or some other state will vary.

Some states have outwardly legalized CBD products while others offer only gray area rules that are more confusing than helpful. So, it pays to do a little research to figure out what laws your state may or may not have.

When buying CBD oil, ensure that you’re buying from a reputable brand. This way you can feel confident that the product meets all legal criteria and that the product is safe for consumption.

Now that you know what you can expect from CBD oil, you’re more informed and ready to make a purchase. What CBD benefit interests you the most?
