Law

What makes marijuana illegal?

Whether you are talking about Marijuana, marijuana, cannabis, or Marijuana,Louisiana requires it a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The uniform controlled dangerous Substances Law is a series of statutes which define five classes of controlled dangerous chemicals, out of Schedule I drugs into Schedule V drugs; Pot is created a Schedule I drug.”Marijuana” means all portions of crops of the Genus Cannabis, whether growing or not the seeds the resin extracted from any part of the plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant, its seeds or resin, but won’t include the mature stalks of such plant, fiber produced from such stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds ofthis plant, any compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, orpreparation of such mature stalks, fiber, oil, or cake, or the sterilized seedof the plant which is not capable of germination.

Cash crop.

In accordance with NORML, bud is Louisiana’s 6th biggest cash crop after rice but before sweet potatoes. However, for street cost per generation buck, bud is 1.

Penalties for marijuana possession in Louisiana

The ownership of marijuana would be treated somewhat differently than the ownership of other Schedule I drugs (many of which take life sentences). Louisiana drug laws are very strict in dealing some cases. Unlike most states, the quantity of bud in possession, so long as it’s significantly less than sixty pounds, doesn’t matter. Though prison and drugs aren’t funny subjects, you cannot help but wonder exactly what the thinking by that the Louisiana Legislature was still here. Why differentiate between ownership of Bud? It’s really hard to envision the transport difficulties. Me sir, but do you have more than 2,000 lbs of marijuana inside your pocket? Given the law offenders need to utilize, it sure will make sense to transfer bud in 59 pound bundles.

Caution:

Any person who attempts or conspires to commit any of those crimes above could be sentenced to half the punishment for committing the crime itself. If someone over 18 spreads into someone under 18 who is 3 years younger, then the penalties could be doubled. His penalties may also be doubled for any individual of any age who spreads to a pupil enrolled in a private or public school.  Supply on schools grounds, in drug treatment centers, at theaters, or even on public housing authority land may also raise the penalties. An intriguing bit of Louisiana marijuana legislation would be your “Pot Tax”.   What’s more, the law prohibits taxation stamps that have to be affixed to or stamped marijuana or controlled hazardous materials, or containers.
