What Type Of Garment Bag Is Best For Your Clothes?

We do not always need to have a garment bag for everything, but when it comes to our nicest clothing, we love to have a good storage bag to keep it in good condition and away from any potential pests or environmental factors which could affect these high quality items.

Hayden Hill garment bags have a plenty of variety, but finding what one is best for you takes some figuring out. It just depends on what you need for what types of clothes you have.

Specific materials may need something more specific, something might suit your closet better. You need something more suitable for you.

So, what are your options?

What Are Garment Bags Traditionally Made Of?

Most garment bags include travel garment bags, but they can be used for storage, not just travel.

Travel garment bags will be made of heavy materials like canvas, leather, and cotton. These are good, but can be susceptible to some pests, so while heavy, they are not always the best option.

You also have other garment bags which are made from plastic, which are not as heavy, they are cheaper, and they are less susceptible to pest damage.

It is not always the best material for garment bags. Some things like Tyvek or vinyl, are often recommended, and they are pretty easy to find as well.

Cotton is breathable, durable, and can protect from dust, water, and moths.

What you choose depends on what your priorities are for storing your clothes.

Soft Vs Non-Rigid Garment Bags

Firstly we should note that some non-woven bags can actually damage your clothing in humid climates, as it is not a breathable material. You want to ensure your nice clothing has room to breathe.

So, when you are trying to choose between soft-sided garment bags and non-rigid garment bags it depends on what the clothes are and what situation you need these garment bags.

Much as the name suggests, soft bags are those made from fabrics, such as cotton, nylon, and so on. These are very easy to fold up for travel, or to store when they are not being used.

Alternatively non-rigid garment bags are the ones you typically see mentioned in guidelines for flights. They do not have rods, wheels, boning, or handles to stop them from collapsing.

If it can be rolled up, it is non-rigid, basically.

So, with all these, which is the best for you?

Let’s consider.
