It has the best rotation capability and can offer the highest capacities; you can use it in docks and other areas that require heavy-duty work. However, it requires a permanent setup due to its unique foundation. You can get a jib crane in three designs:

  • Base Plate Mounted – They are the easiest to install and one of the most secured lifting devices.
  • Foundation Mounted – These have steel plates welded with a concrete footing.
  • Sleeve Insert Mounted – These also have welded steel plates with a strong foundation.

Foundationless Jib Cranes

You can install these cranes anywhere as it does not require any permanent foundation. Hence, you can install it faster as you do not need to wait for the concrete to cure. Though the overall capacity is low, Foundationless Jib cranes are cost-effective and work efficiently.  

Mast Type Jib Cranes

Mast type Jib Cranes does not require any particular foundation. Hence, you can install it wherever the work requires. It is cost-effective. You can use it for any heavy-duty work. Mast Type Jib cranes are of two types:

  • Full Cantilever – You can use it to lift any heavy goods and materials. However, there should not be any overhead obstructions when using it.
  • Drop Cantilever – You can use it for maximum clearance as it allows the boom to be drop mounted.

Wall Mounted Jib Cranes

As you can figure out from the name, the wall-mounted jib cranes are designed to be fixed with the wall. Thus it doesn’t occupy space, and you can easily use it as the project demands. In addition, they are helpful to swing the objects around any obstructions, thus ensuring that the work is done smoothly. As a result, the cost of Wall-mounted Jib cranes is more economical than its counterparts. However, it does not allow a full rotation as they are installed on walls.

Articulating Jib Cranes

Whether it is floor, wall or any other place, you can install these cranes practically everywhere because of their versatility. You can also use it to lift and place goods from places that are not possible for the other types of Jib cranes. So, if you have heavy-duty work and the lifting is frequent, you must install Articulate Jib Crane.
