Zabaglione-The Italian dessert you never knew you needed

You must have had many types of custards in your whole life and I am sure that among all of those at least one of them would be your favorite. Zabaglione is also one of the types. What is zabaglione?

Zabaglione is a dessert that is not very popular among people but that’s why we would like to tell you what this dessert is before moving forward towards its recipe. It is a custard-like dessert, also called a similar version of Sabayon. This is a three-ingredient dessert that melts like butter in the mouth. These three gems give us this beautiful dessert called Zabaglione. The palatable taste of this dish makes people crave it more. It has a specific taste that makes people easily figure out between a sabayon and a zabaglione. This taste in this dessert comes from Marsala wine known for its exciting flavor. It is preferred to use only this wine when making a zabaglione.

The basic recipe to make this dessert

Egg yolk is the first ingredient. Sugar is the second one and wine is the third ingredient you should have for making this dessert. There is a specific ratio for making every dish. Zabaglione has one too. You can calculate the standard mixing ratio as per the number of servings you will make. Other than that the amount of sugar can also be adjusted as per your taste. But make sure to not make it fall among those sweet dishes with unpredictable amounts of sugar.

Moving forward towards the instructions. Take a heat-proof bowl first. Then add egg yolks in it. Add sugar after that and whisk both the ingredients together. The mixture must turn into pale yellow color. After that add wine to the mixture. Do not forget to add kosher salt (just a pinch of it). Take a saucepan and add a stand in it and preheat the saucepan along with the stand for a few minutes over the stove. After that put the bowl in which you made the mixture. Keep going with whisking the mixture until it starts looking like custard. When the custard becomes stiff that means it is ready.

You should have it immediately after removing it from the stove. Serve it in a bowl by adding the warm custard to the fruits placed earlier. Mint leaves garnishing can be done to give this dessert a perfect look. This was a very basic recipe of zabaglione that everyone can easily try at their homes.

It may seem to be a tiring task and many people do not want to invest so much time and effort in whisking it insanely. To save yourself from the hectic of continuous whisking, get a hand mixer for yourself and the rest is its job.

Have it immediately

You have to keep a dessert in the fridge for hours to get the best taste possible. But zabaglione is a dessert that is advised to serve the moment it is made. Other than this there is no other way to save this dessert for hours. Make this dessert at the time of serving.  Take a bowl and add the warm custard in it on the fruits placed earlier. Let the mixture sit

The majority of the people do not take this advice seriously and do whatever they want to do. Well, that should not be the case here. In the first case, you should avoid taking a break while whisking. But if you break the process of continuous whisking just make sure the mixture doesn’t get settled on the bottom. You can remove the saucepan from the stove for a few minutes to rest in between continuous whisking. Keep this thing in your mind otherwise you might end up with a mixture that is not light in weight and luscious in texture.

Remember that the information of best vodka brands and their wines are not enough to make a good zabaglione. You need to concentrate on the mixing ratio and the instructions both.
