The idea of doing a detox is something that has grown substantial hype over the last several years. When you search online for the ultimate full-body detox, you’re going to get a lot of mixed information. Most of the information that is found online can be misleading and downright unhealthy.

If you’re looking for a way to jumpstart or reboot your overall health, there are healthy and safe ways to be able to do it. Here are seven things you can start doing today to detox your body the healthy way.

Reduce Your Alcohol Intake

Usually, when someone is looking to do a healthy detox to revitalize their body, it includes limiting or completely removing alcohol from their diet. You might think a drink one a few times a week isn’t that bad. However, at least 90% of the alcohol you ingest will metabolize in your liver which can lead to inflammation, scarring, and fat buildup.

Invest In Supplements

Removing certain chemicals or toxins from your body means you’ll want to start adding other essential “ingredients” to your body to help fight the battle as well. Start doing research into different types of vitamins and minerals that can be added to your daily diet.

Taking supplements can aid in the detoxing process, such as molecular hydrogen tablets that can be added to your water. It improves your metabolism, strengthens your immune system, and gives your body extra instantaneous energy.

Replace Processed Foods with Anti-Inflammatory Foods

Processed foods are usually jam-packed with sugars and other various words in the ingredients list you probably have never heard of before. Sugars are hard on your body and do not easily digest.

However, it also is incredibly hard when you have too much sugar for your body to properly detoxify anything. This is because excess sugar messes with your glycemic control, which is how your body metabolizes and detoxes in the first place.

Instead of foods that are high in sugar, try replacing them with anti-inflammatory foods. These are foods and snacks that help clean your insides, such as unwanted buildup inside of your liver. Foods like these include nuts, whole grains, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and beans.

Try to Get More Sleep

Sleep is what allows your body to heal and restore itself. Another aspect of sleep you may not have known about is that your body actually removes toxic waste byproducts that have built up throughout the day. For example, your body removes a certain waste byproduct while you are resting called beta-amyloid which is a contributing factor to developing dementia.

Drink More Water

Your body is around 60% water. It needs water in order to do every single one of its functions. One of these aspects includes detoxing your body from chemicals and toxins through waste products.

The body alleviates these toxins through urination, sweating, and breathing. If you aren’t getting enough water, your body won’t be able to properly release the toxins and waste products that are pertinent to any detox.

Add Regular Exercise to Your Routine

There isn’t a detox list out there that doesn’t include regular exercise, and it’s for a good reason. Moving your body increases your circulation. This amplifies how much you sweat. As we mentioned before, sweating is one of the ways your body removes waste byproducts. Not to mention, it also increases your mood, which is beneficial while doing any sort of detox.

Find a Balance

With all types of detoxes, you need to find a balance. This includes having a balance within your eating, sleeping, drinking, and exercise routine. If you are exercising too much but not taking in enough food, your body won’t have enough energy to keep moving forward in a healthy way.

This is why it’s incredibly important to do your research on any detox method that is out there before you try it. Remember, there are always healthy ways to be able to cleanse your body.
