Reactivity and aggression are critical dilemmas and shouldn’t be minimized. The truth is that aggression is a behavior that every dog is capable of. It’s there somewhere as part of your dog, and if given the right circumstances, your puppy may show it.
Reactivity and Aggression when they present themselves are some of the most concerning behaviors to most dog owners. They could accept many forms, from snarling and other body posture indicators to growling or barking, all the way around physically attacking another dog or person. Numerous factors can play a part in the manifestation of aggression, not enough socialization, abuse, fear, owners behavior, and genetics, to mention a few.
Whatever the root cause of the Reactivity or Aggression, our job is to teach the aggressive dog board and train and teach the dog a better way of existing within our world. We make this happen by putting the dog into a very structured environment with clear, concise communication, establishing strong rules and boundaries, and teaching them just what behavior is expected of them and what is not allowed.
We establish a new sort of relationship with the dog through our training, likely not one he’s ever had before, where he sees a human as a strong, competent leader. Teaching the dog to trust that any situation we encounter, we humans have under control. Once your puppy learns to release the reactive/aggressive behavior, they can relax and live a happier, more fulfilling life. Most owners will see transformation results they could not have thought possible.
As a holistic training element to lessen reactivity/aggression, your puppy will receive lots of training in basic obedience and graduate with a strong drive to make you happy. This training is extremely fulfilling to the dog. Just like a person, dogs enjoy learning new things and succeeding at them.
