Dr. Yosef Alhasany Discusses Reconstructing People’s View on Reality

Dr. Yosef Alhasany ( Dr. Yousef Khaled Fuad Hasan ) continues making waves in his chosen field of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. He is outspoken regarding cognitive behavioral therapy and how its session limitations do not delve deep enough for a complete process of healing. He feels deep-rooted issues need a realistic psychoanalytical approach, and that is where he devotes his efforts in his field of practice.

We discussed with Dr. Yosef the importance of people being true to themselves and how they can break away from the exterior fakeness that mars their view of reality.

Background on Dr. Yosef Alhasany

Having battled with several issues himself, Dr. Alhasany was introduced to various forms of therapy himself. With time, he realized that for these to be more effective, they needed to be developed further. He has worked at creating his own psychoanalytical medical realistic approach that he is known for.

“Psychological healing can be achieved through psychoanalysis, but it does take time,” Dr. Alhasany explains.

With close to a million followers on Instagram, Dr. Alhasany also conducts online programs that explore several issues affecting society. These include psychological, medical, and relationships. The programs are aimed at making people feel better about themselves.

Dr. Alhasany conducts seminars throughout the Middle East but also finds time to publish articles on common psychological issues. These include depressive disorder and how it is linked to emotional suppression, emotional manipulation and narcissism, and the importance of self-development.

Breaking away from the exterior fakeness

The “fake self” as opposed to the “true self” needs deep contemplation and analysis, according to Dr. Alhasany. Exterior fakeness is developed from an early age when certain issues shape a person.

“My concern is that most people live a life completely removed from their true self. I believe the subconsciousness can be reprogrammed so that a person can change their perception of how they can be true to themselves,” he told us.

Dr. Yosef explains the artificial person is created by people at a young age because it helps to protect them from shock. It also helps them overcome issues like reliving their developmental trauma and stress in close relationships. Complications arise from the idea that a person must comply with certain standards otherwise they won’t be loved by their parents. This leads to people becoming false to please others all the time. Unfortunately, this can continue beyond the home into their education and career.

“This is where we need to define the person’s inner voice and take them on a journey of discovery to find their inner voice,” explains Dr. Alhasany. “Peoples’ view about reality can be rebuilt, this helps them remove the trapped feelings that hinder them from moving forward.”

Dr. Yosef does not blame everything on parenting but also emphasizes the role of dysfunctional religions, education, and society. They all play a role in peoples’ lives because they enforce things on them that don’t represent them at all.

“I stand for the collective consciousness because these systems don’t help people grow into original thinkers,” he says.

In his article on clinical depression, Dr. Alhasany dares to go against the tradition of arranged marriages. Often these lead to dysfunctional relationships and toxic dynamics, whose creation and recreation affect the people in the marriage, their children, and society.

A journey of self-development

In Dr. Yosef’s words: “When people embark on a journey of self-development, they can find their weaknesses and strengths.” He believes this journey helps them move away from whatever form of enslavement has caused their exterior fakeness. Reprogramming the subconscious helps people acknowledge their insecurities and fears, and allows them to connect to their inner voice.

“Helping people find a realistic perspective for themselves is vital to my work. I created my own psychoanalytic medical realistic approach, a strategy I firmly believe in. Through this approach, I stand for humans that are real to themselves, and not copies of what others expect from them.”

We were left with some serious food for thought and realized we all have room for improvement. Leading fulfilling lives that allow us to break away from limiting beliefs can be achieved by finding our true selves. The psychological journey through the views of Dr. Yosef Alhasany promises a life of truth, joy, and responsibility.

Dr. Yosef Alhasany was born in Kuwait and came top of his class at Kuwait University where he completed his Bachelor’s in General Medicine and Surgery. He completed his internship in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy at Beek Institute and was certified in psychoanalysis.
