Effective Ways to Organize Everything in a Shower

Keeping the shower neat and organized can be a full-time job in some households. Gooey bottles of body wash, dented shampoos, and conditioners, rusty razors — they all tend to gather in small shower spaces and take up residency.

But it doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money to organize your shower once and for all! You may live alone and just have an endless collection of bath and shower products. Or perhaps you live with several others who all use the same shower.

Either way, here are the seven most effective ways to organize everything in your shower.

1. Showerhead Caddy

These are one of the most popular shower organizational tools out there. Why? Because they come in a variety of materials, shapes, styles, and price ranges.

The best part? They are a no-install solution — they simply hang over your shower head, no matter what type you have.

Shower caddies typically have a couple of shelves and make it easy to organize your shower and bath products while also keeping them within reach. If you’re not using a hanging shower caddy yet, what are you waiting for? You’ll be super impressed with the way their ridiculously simple style eliminates shower mess from day one.

2. Shower Curtain Liner With Pockets

If you have a shower curtain, you need a shower curtain liner. And why not have one that doubles as a nifty storage solution?

Using a clear shower curtain with mesh pockets lets you keep your bathroom equipment at hand while keeping your floors dry.

You can use it as a liner if you’re just storing your bottles of shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, bath bubbles, soaks, etc. That way, you can keep your organizational prowess from visitors and just have your printed, stylish shower curtain on display.

But if you’re also using it to hold slippers, hair tools, candles, and other items that should not get wet, be sure to face the pockets outwards!

Watery pockets, flooded slippers, and ruined hair dryers negate the neat and tidy aspect of this organizational curtain, to say the least!

Have a glass encased shower without a curtain? An over-the-door organizer works great instead.

3. Shower Corner Shelves With Suction Cups

These are a classic space-saving, non-permanent solution for small bathrooms and apartments. You can easily pick up a plastic corner shelf that sticks to the tiles in your shower via suction cups from basically any homegoods store.

Because they’re supported by a suction cup or two, these aren’t the sturdiest, however. They’re probably best for razors and maybe body wash. And since they’re typically made of metal or plastic, they need to be cleaned regularly to avoid soap buildup and/or a rusty mess.

They are, however, great for when you want a minimalist solution for a couple lightweight shower products.

4. Individual Caddies for Household Members

Assigning everyone in your household their own shower caddy is a smart way to stay organized. Each person can keep their personal caddy stocked with their own shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and other bath accessories, and simply carry it with them in and out of the bathroom.

Just be sure no one leaves their caddy in the shower when they’re done. Keep the caddies in a linen closet until it’s bath time.

You can purchase multi-pack colorful caddies with handles that hold a slew of personal items and can be kept showerside when you’re bathing.

After you’re done, put your personal caddy back in the closet and enjoy the doubly serene feeling of being both squeaky clean and well organized!

5. Soap Dish With Hooks

Another smart solution for very specific products, this stainless steel soap dish with hooks is a shower organizing marvel.

First of all, it adheres to shower walls, meaning no serious installation job or power tools are needed to place it securely in your shower stall.

Secondly, it has a flat basket made for bar soap, but can potentially hold a bottle of body wash, bath salts, or shave cream. The hooks on the side and along the bottom are designed to hold razors and loofahs, keeping those necessary items at hand and neatly tucked away.

6. Install Removable Hooks

If you’re more interested in hanging shower items and don’t feel you need more shelving ideas, removable hooks are a superb option.

You can search an array of Command general-purpose hooks for the style and weight capacity you want. Command hooks’ damage-free adhesive is especially popular with apartment dwellers, for whom any permanent change to the decor is a huge no-no.

Put a few adhesive hooks up on the shower walls to hang loofahs, wash cloths, and towels, and take them down just as easily when it’s time to move out.

7. Tension Rod Corner Shelving

A vertical spring tension shower pole caddy is another smart find for showers used by multiple household members.

It’s designed to fit in the corner of the shower, is adjustable in rod height as well as in shelf distance, and can hold many different bath and shower products.

As well as making it a cinch to organize everything in your shower, a tension rod caddy is sturdy and simple to keep clean. And because you can tuck it neatly into any shower corner, it’s easy to install and completely out of your way when you shower.

Conclusion

A disorganized shower is an obnoxious mess that haunts you daily. But as you can see, that can be corrected, easily and affordably!

Mix and match a couple of these effective shower organizational tools, and you’ll enjoy a neater shower for good. Now, if only they could scrub the tub, too …
