Freelance magazine journalism
Ever read a magazine article on a topic close to your heart and thought, ‘Do I know more than this author?’ You don’t need a professional journalist to contribute freelance articles (buying an essay) to publications. You can turn your expertise/hobby/use interest into a mini-spinner by writing pieces for magazines. Odd titles often delight commission experts to write clear, cognitive features on expert articles.
Write content for blogs and websites
Everyone has an online presence and making money while writing content remains to be seen. Be specific about the skills you offer, be aware of the type of job you are looking for, and be realistic that this is a very competitive market.
Enter writing competitions and win
All you have to do is check the website every week to see that the writing world is full of competitions with generous cash prizes. Prizes of 2.5 million are written in the annual Writing Magazine Competition Guidelines. Someone has to win them and why shouldn’t you? To win it you have to get involved, so, polish your best work; consider the entry fee as an investment, not only in the chance that you will win but also a better, more fluent writer.
Write online articles
Culture pays £30 for a published list. Crack.com pays for humorous articles. Great! Women writers pay for writing and publishing pieces. That’s just three. Whether vice versa, tech reader, or Buzz Feed, look at the guidelines for the site you choose – and keep in mind that while not all top sites are paying the marketplace, getting your content out there is your business. The profile will be a surprise and hopefully a sale, for example, you have found a book that deals with the content you have written. You can get article rewriter services for better results.
Self-publish your book
As an indie author, you can publish your book on Amazon yourself and if you are commercially savvy and marketing savvy, there is a good chance that the book will generate revenue. If you want ideas on how to be a successful self-published author, check out what Adam Croft, the world’s bestseller, said in an exclusive interview.
Earn cash for fillers and snippets
Some posts, especially hilarious entertainment titles such as Take off Break, Reader’s Digest and The Life but also the Guardian Family section, encourage reader participation and pay a small fee or offer prizes for letters and fillers: Top Tips, Recipes, jokes, truths, life stories, and other pieces. Other publications may not offer cash, but they do have excellent prizes for star letters.
Write a bestseller
Well, we acknowledge that there is no guarantee that this will work. And we are well aware that there is no formula for success, or we will follow it ourselves. But why leave it all to other authors? Why shouldn’t you at least go on to write a book that strikes a chord with a wider readership? Write your best book, get it out there, and see what happens. You could be the next James Peterson or JK Rowling.
