Have you come across an Instagram video that you like so much that you want to download it to your Computer or Mobile phone?
Thankfully, we’ve put this guide together to help you learn how to download Instagram videos, photos, and stories.
Instagram is the most popular photo-sharing platform in the world. Every day, nearly 500 million people access Instagram. People from all walks of life use Instagram primarily to stay connected with loved ones. You might also use Instagram to keep up with your community’s events, watch motivational videos, or even learn some cooking tips from some of the popular Instagram baking pages. The options are limitless, and you could spend your entire life scrolling through your Instagram feed.
But what if there are some photos of videos that you want to download off Instagram? Maybe you come across a funny cat video or a hilarious meme that you want to share with your friends who aren’t on social media. Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t make it easy to download from the platform as there is no built-in option in the official app.
The good news is that a number of third-party web tools have been developed to help you download Instagram photos and videos, and surprisingly, the process is straightforward.
Downloading your own Instagram content
The first thing we will cover is how to download your photos and videos from your account. Instagram makes it easy to upload the content, but they make it tricky when you want to download it.
Recently, many of my close friends decided to close their Instagram accounts and wanted to back-up all their photos before doing so. To start downloading all of your Instagram data, you’ll need to first log in to the official Instagram website in your favorite web-browser.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll need to go to your profile settings by clicking on the gear icon in the top left corner which will bring up a panel. Click on the “Privacy and Security” button.
Then scroll down and then click on the “request download” button. Once you’ve completed the process, a download link containing all of your data will be sent to your email address.
Downloading Using a Web-based Tool
If you do a quick search for Instagram downloader, Google will return over 6 million search results. While some of these sites are good looking and finding the best ones can be annoying. Some require you to pay for a membership, while others don’t work and have countless advertisements trying to trick you into downloading software.
Thankfully, we’ve narrowed down the results to what we think is the best tool for the job.
Instaoffline makes downloading videos off Instagram easy. It has a clean design that’s easy to navigate with options for downloading photos, videos, and private content off Instagram. To get started using the website, you’ll need to open up the Instagram app and find the video you’re interested in. You can also use the official Instagram website. Copy the link to the video that you want to download. Open Instaoffline’s video downloader to start downloading the Instagram video. Paste the link you copied into the input field and hit the download button. Wait for the web page to display the download links to the video. Click on the download button to initiate the download on your device.
We like Instaoffline because there are no annoying advertisements, you don’t need to install any third-party software, and it allows for unlimited downloads. It also has a nifty private downloader tool for saving private videos and images .
Other web-based apps that work similarly to Instaoffline are IGDownloader and DownloadGram.
Save Instagram videos on an Android.
Android phone users have many third-party Instagram video downloader options. Unlike the iPhone, the Android app store has much more relaxed rules about what apps can get published. One free option that we recommend is the video downloader for Instagram.
Being free, you’ll have to put up with annoying advertisements, but at least they are just a minor distraction. There are options to become a premium subscriber, which will remove the ads, but we don’t recommend it.
To get started, you’ll need to head over to the android app store and search for the “downloader for Instagram” app.
Once installed, open up the Instagram app, and tap the three dots in the top right corner of the video or photo you want to download. Copy the link to the video, then open up the downloader for Instagram App. Once you open the app, the link that you copied in the previous still will automatically be pasted into the app. You can click on the download buttons just below the video or image to save it to your device. You can find the downloaded file by accessing the file commander viewing the downloads folder.
If you aren’t worried about Installing third-party software on your phone, this option might suit you best. If you prefer to play it safe, then I recommend using a web downloader.
Tip: If you’re trying to stand out on Instagram, try spicing up your social media profile using the Instagram text generator by Fancyfonts.co. It has lots of unique fonts that you can copy paste right into your Instagram profile and posts.
Downloading content off Instagram can be a bit complicated, but with the right know-how and the proper tools, anyone can do it.
