The Differences Between CBD and Delta 8 THC

Delta 8 is a cannabis-derived formulation containing CBD, THC, and other non-hallucinogenic plant extracts. As awareness continues to spread, diversity in the market widens, offering a variety of products with different properties and effects of cannabis. Some users prefer CBD because it produces none of the psychoactive effects associated with THC; while some prefer oils with high levels of THC because they affect the body differently.

Delta-8 THC is a popular cannabinoid that occurs in small concentrations throughout the Cannabis plant. These cannabinoids serve at least two purposes: to protect the fragile buds and to attract pollinating insects. Along with this, Delta-8 THC can be applied topically or consumed in certain food products and beverages. Defining CBD: The Popular Cannabinoid

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an abbreviation for cannabidiol. This scientific breakthrough came about when researchers found that cannabis has an “entourage effect”. The botanical term for this is phytocannabinoids such as CBD. It was found that all three of these plants have cannabinoids but they have individual structures. This led researchers to restore the entourage effect: the presence of multiple cannabinoids in cannabis instead of just one cannabinoid like THC or CBD.

Delta-8 Hemp CBD, a hemp-derived cannabinoid, may be legal in your locality because it contains less than 0.3% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the active ingredient in marijuana that makes recreational and medical marijuana use illegal under federal law.

Defining Delta 8 THC

Delta 8 products are a rare cannabinoid. The easier way to say this is Delta 8 THC is more stable and doesn’t convert as easily as Delta 9 THC into the active compounds. We use this form exclusively in all of our products, finding that our equipment creates an end product that has high levels of CBD and very little Delta 9 THC.

Delta-8 THC is a lesser-known cannabinoid, in comparison to the much more widely-used CBD. Not only are there claims that it has less severe side effects, but it is also connected to certain psychoactive effects, including feelings of euphoria. Delta-8 THC is also difficult to find in medical dispensaries and marketplaces due to federal warning letters recently distributed by Homeland Security about the rare cannabinoid.

Is Delta 8 the same as CBD?

Delta 8 is also known as CBD’s ‘parent compound’. It’s technically an isomer of CBD. That means the two compounds share the exact same atoms, just in a different arrangement. Through the atomic rearrangement of CBD and Delta 8 together, we’re able to create some really powerful medicinal compounds and byproducts. As mentioned earlier, Delta 8 THC is one of these byproducts. ATLRx injects the CBG with a catalyst that rearranges its atomic structure into Delta 8-THC and it then goes through some more steps until it becomes pure THC.
