The laser rangefinders and GPS watches have common use in this game.

Golf Laser rangefinder

The market is full of varieties of rangefinders. It’s really hard to find the perfect product. Bushnell, Nikon, TecTecTec, Callaway, Golfbuddy, and Precision are some famous brands in the market. Every rangefinder has a different range usually it is 400+ yards. The magnification of distance finder devices also varies but usually, it is 5X to 7X.

The more magnification makes the target easy to locate. The devices having 7X magnification usually are doing well. The slope function is an additional function in rangefinders which calculate the incline and decline angle.

Therefore slope function is necessary while playing downhill or uphill. Waterproofing of the rangefinder is also necessary while playing outdoor.

The waterproofing ability makes it useable in all weather conditions. There are some necessary modern technologies Like Pin seeker and Jolt technology makes the device more reliable.

GPS Watches

Small GPS devices played a very positive role in the golf game. Now it is easy to handle the device as it is wearable on our arm.

Garmin and Bushnell are two major players in the market. However, TecTecTec and golf buddy are also producing quality GPS watch at a reasonable price.

GPS devices are controlled with apps. Most devices have the ability of 30000+ courses. The battery life of the device is a critical factor to consider.

A device with more than 10 hours of battery timing is good to consider. Interestingly these devices have nominal weight. Due to the small size of the device their display is smaller than rangefinders. Some devices have a touchscreen. Meanwhile, some devices support multilanguage.

Bluetooth option is also available in most of the devices. The most important thing is the accuracy of the target. I think this feature is preferred overall.

Hunting rangefinder

There are two types of rangefinders available in the market one for hunting and others for golf.

The accuracy of devices is important here as hunting is a dangerous hobby. Also, hunters wait may be in hours for the target. After this long wait, the loss of the target due to faulty devices is very disappointing.

There are many companies in the market. I like Bushnell, Vortex, and Leupold for hunting distance finder. These are the most reliable companies.

The 6x magnification is enough to consider. After the accuracy, the most important thing in hunting is the range of the device. The long-range devices are more likable. In my opinion hunting rangefinder should have a range above 1000 yards.

The hunting rangefinder should have a minimum weight. The more weight of the device is a burden on the hunter. Powerful optics makes the reading more visible. The wider the LCD, the more clear is reading without putting a strain on the eyes.

As hunter faces all weather conditions so, the water-resistance device is necessary. The angle compensated distance is a likable feature as there is not flat ground always.

The device should be easy to use. The more complex functions could be irritating.

The Vortex rangefinders are famous for hunting. The vortex 1800 is my choice as it has HCD mode which provides angle compensated distance. So, when the earth is not flat this helps a lot. The advanced LOS mode is used for more precision. The result is usually accurate in this mode. Also, this device has a continuous scan function for a moving target.

The Vortex with 6X magnification provides a range of up to 1800. The weight of the device is only 12 oz.

The rangefinder is a very helpful device both in golf and hunting. Some rangefinder can be used for both purposes. Always go for popular brands with maximum accuracy. GPS devices could be a better option in golf.
