Terracotta diffusers are essentially clay bottles that are corked with oils inside. This type of diffusing isn’t very steady and the smell is greatest at the initial time the oil is placed in the pot.
The pot or bottle needs to be cleaned when replacing oils or the smalls can mix. This may take some time to scrub, soak, and dry off before you can use it the next time.
