The Ultimate Guide to the Different Types of Diffusers

You may think that aromatherapy is just a bunch of products that deodorize spaces but they offer a lot of added benefits too. Diffusers can help relieve pain, improve breathing, and even help with skin conditions.

There are lots of different types of diffusers that work differently. Keep reading for the different types you should consider when buying your own.

What Really Is a Diffuser?

A diffuser is a tool that spreads essential oils throughout a space. It can help rejuvenate thoughts and elevate moods by reducing stress.

It helps create a calming and positive atmosphere which is why most people enjoy them. Find out the benefits that come from getting yourself one.

Reed Diffuser

Reed diffusers are great for someone buying a diffuser for the first time. These have wooden reeds that go into the bottle that has the essential oils. The oil goes to the top of the sticks and releases into the area when it does so.

If there is oil in the bottle the diffuser will have a scent. These diffusers are nice because they require the least amount of maintenance.

Water Diffusers

When choosing a diffuser most people are familiar with the water types because they are affordable. The basin is filled with water and essential oils that diffuse by ultrasonic waves. These are great for large spaces because they have such a wide range.

A lot of the water diffusers have timers that can be set to run for a specific amount. Otherwise, you can let it run all night or day long because once the water runs out it will automatically shut off.

Electronic Diffusers

These have an absorbent pad that holds oils over a source of heat. Simply plug the device in and it should run until you turn it off. The pad needs to be thrown away once it saturates completely.

Tea Light Diffusers

Tea light candles heat up and warm the essential oils that create your favorite aroma. This is ideal for a smaller space because it is light and cozy. When choosing a diffuser that is small and compact this can be great and add to the ambiance.

Terracotta Diffusers

Terracotta diffusers are essentially clay bottles that are corked with oils inside. This type of diffusing isn’t very steady and the smell is greatest at the initial time the oil is placed in the pot.

The pot or bottle needs to be cleaned when replacing oils or the smalls can mix. This may take some time to scrub, soak, and dry off before you can use it the next time.

Choosing The Right Types Of Diffusers

The types of diffusers you have seen above are all great choices. What you go with really depends on what your purpose is and if it fits your needs. Keep in mind the size of the room, run time, and power source.
