Tips in Choosing Rolling Papers

The recreational use of cannabis or marijuana remains a controversial issue in different countries. There is still a debate on its legalization, although some places have legalized its use. As of this writing, there are 20 states in the US where there is a legal use of recreational marijuana. In addition, there are licensed dispensaries where you can get this product. To smoke marijuana, you also need a rolling paper.

It’s unclear where and when these papers were first used. However, some believed that when Christopher Columbus returned to America from his journey in Spain, he brought cigars that originated in the latter. Peasants who could not afford to buy them collected the tobacco left on the cigarette butts used by Columbus, rolled them in a newspaper, and smoked them. Fast forward to today, there are now various types and flavors of papers available for rolling cannabis. Here are some tips for choosing the best option for you.

Size

Various sizes of rolling papers are available, including single wide, 1 1/4 inches, 1 1/2 inches, double wide, and king. The best paper size depends on the smoking experience you want to have.

  • Single wide. It’s ideal for only one user and not for group use. It can be difficult to roll at first because it’s small, but you will enjoy this tight and thin roll once you get the hang of it.
  • 1-1/4 inches. It’s easy to find this paper size because it’s a popular choice. Once rolled, it looks similar to a regular cigarette. Since it’s slightly bigger than a single wide paper, it’s ideal for up to three users sharing a puff.
  • 1-1/2 inches. It’s bigger than a standard cigarette, so it also takes longer to burn. A group of four avid smokers would have enough hit on this paper size.
  • Double wide. Although it’s bigger, it’s not a popular choice because it could also be challenging to make a good roll. If not done correctly, you will not enjoy the smoke as it will come more from the paper than the cannabis.
  • King. It’s bigger than double wide, making it a good option for a larger group. However, you must roll it carefully, ensuring there is enough cannabis.

Flavor

These papers are infused with terpenes, which are aromatic compounds extracted from plants. There are several flavors to choose from, so you can get one, depending on your preference. Popular choices are lemon, mango, coconut, and blueberry. Besides these papers, there are also paper cones that you can purchase to use for smoking cannabis. They are pre-rolled into cones, so these are also excellent options if you are not confident about rolling papers. These cones also come in different flavors.

Material

Manufacturers use various materials for making these papers, like plants, rice, wood pulp, and hemp. They have their pros and cons. For instance, rice paper is slow to burn, but rolling could be challenging, especially in a moist or damp area.

Consider these factors when choosing the paper to use for rolling cannabis. Also, compare their prices and get your supply only from a trusted seller to ensure quality.
