Nobody likes unwanted, irritating body hair. So we usually use waxing, shaving trimming to get rid of them. But none of them is a permanent solution to this problem. So, what is the permanent solution to this? Well, the answer is laser hair removal. Though most people are aware of this treatment name, many of them are unsure of all the things that you must do and all the things that you shouldn’t do when opting for laser hair removal.

So, in this article, we are going to focus on some do’s and don’t when it comes to laser removal. We have had so many questions about this. But in the medical field, it is always better to hear from a specialist who has several years of experience. So, you can use the list of do and don’ts suggested by Dr. Firdous. She is one of the best skin specialists in Secunderabad. Dr. Firdous is also Certified by Allergan Aesthetic Academy, Restylane Galderma (Dubai) & holds more than 14 years of experience in this field.

I hope this article will answer all your questions. So, let’s get into the do’s and don’ts.

So, Let’s Start With The Do’s-

Before your actual treatment understands one thing that it’s going to take several sessions to achieve the best result. If you just go for one session it’s not going to be that effective. Hair grows in different stages so there might still be hair underneath the surface where the laser cannot penetrate. You will be asked to take about six to eight sessions depending on a lot of things and a little patch test will be done to make sure that you know what you’re getting yourself into. But the Machine Dr. Firdous uses isso great and it’s really not painful.

One really important thing is that you have to have the area being treated as it will give you more effective results. When you shave make sure that you have carefully so you don’t damage the skin and do it at least one month before the treatment.

Make sure that you always be a sunblock or at least maintain the natural color so the machine settings can seat your skin type perfectly and then give you the best results.

SoLet’s Look At Some Don’ts-

Before you start your treatment do not expose yourself to the sun or any sun-bed one month before your treatment. As mentioned previously we want the best results. So, we want your natural skin color to come through and for those settings to match up perfectly.

Do not use any skincare product before the treatment without the doctor’s permission. Use of any chemical or cream can irritate the skin and also don’t use any deodorant before you go for your treatment

Don’t be nervous to communicate so ask any questions while doing your session. It’s important for your doctor to know that you are absolutely comfortable so if you’re feeling any discomfort she can always change the settings on the machine until you are completely comfortable and the treatment is painless.

Other Considerable Points-

On arrival of your first appointment, it’s very important to go through the consultation. Fill out your medical form so your doctor knows exactly what he or she’s working with. Your doctor will do a full assessment here and identify which settings on the machine she has to use on you. Little red bumps can occur during and post-treatment. So, don’t freak out if that happens.

Wear such clothes which will protect you from the sun. Make sure that you follow all home care instructions and also with your next treatment make sure to update your doctor of any sun exposure or anything that might have changed.

Post-Treatment Care-

okay so now you’ve done your laser hair removal.

Here is the do’sfor after your laser hair removal therapy-

Immediately after your treatment, your doctor will apply post-laser treatment cream. As per your doctor’s advice, keep applying it to make sure that the skin really stays well &protected for the next one.

After your treatments only water to wash the area treated. So, no soap should be used, and after washing use a soft towel for drying the area gently. This is really going to make sure that you don’t have irritated skin or any other problems.

Avoid exfoliating or peels after a week of your treatment. If you have to follow askin resume make sure that you follow it up with the person doing your laser to ensure that the products are going to work well with the area treated.

The sudden growth of hair in the treated area after the treatment is normal. So, don’t worry

Now here’s the don’ts for after your laser hair removal-

don’t apply makeup to the area beingtreated&do not rub squeeze or expose the area to the sun if you’re treating your underarms also don’t apply any deodorant after treatment for at least 12 hours.

For the next 12 hours, you shouldn’t steam sauna or exercise. Once again you wanna reiterate the fact that you shouldn’t plaque or tweeze. You will feel the need to pull some of them out while it’s at its shading phase but this will really compromise your treatment result. So, make sure, not to touch it and just let it be.

These are the do’s and don’ts suggested by Dr. Firdous when you’re doing laser hair removal. I hope these are helpful and really informative.
