Bleach Are Flushable

This is a very giant myth. Bleach when flushed into your toilet often will corrode the working part of your toilet leading to more damage being done to your toilet which will require repair work in the nearest future.

Bleach should not stay longer than 10 minutes on your toilet before you clean it up, this way you will be protecting your toilet from degrading.

Flushable Wipes Easily Goes Down The Flush

Flushable wipes such as baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, and other seemingly flushable products are not to be dumped into the toilet but rather the dust bin.

Flushable wipes are one of the most common causes of sewer pipe blockage which will lead to waste backing up into your home thus harming your health and that of your family.

Plungers Are One-Tool-Fix-All Powerful Plumbing Tool

While plungers may be used to remove small and loose debris from pipes, they are not designed for stubborn clogs, mineral buildup, or major blockages.

Though a plunger is a good place to start, when dealing with blockages other than food residue or bathroom tissue, you should consider other ways of fixing blockages such as water ram and drain auger which are more suitable for grime and stubborn clogs.

Nothing Can Swim Up Your Pipes

Little rodents such as rats can swim up to your pipes. When these rats smell food, they follow up the smell and may end up in your toilet.

To avoid this, never flush down food through your toilet or little pieces of food down your drainage, make use of the bin for this purpose.

A Leaking Faucet Isn’t Worth The Fix

While you may think a leaking faucet ain’t need much attention, as it is just one tiny leak, mind you, that tiny leak may waste up to 500 gallons of water in a year.

Fixing the tiniest leak will save you lots of trouble and will also reduce your energy and water bill considerably. All you need to do is to check the connections, gaskets, and washers and if you can’t find the culprit, call on a professional plumber.

Rumbling Water Heater Will Blow Up

While water heaters can cause electrical sparks which may result in fire, a noisy water heater is not dangerous unless it is interfering with electrical connections.

The loud noise is caused by heat generated by the water heater trying to make its way through multiple sediment layers. These layers are a result of years of usage and air bubbles coming out of these will cause the annoying noise.

To prevent your water heater from blowing up, always check the TPR and ensure it’s working properly. Temperature and Pressure Relief valve which regulates the temperature and pressure of heated water. If this malfunctions, it can cause your water heater to explode.
