A ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ isn’t found around the corner but needs to have certain qualities that make him stand out from the rest
Paul Heyman is one of the greatest figures in the history of professional wrestling. He might be remembered now as one of the best managers and speakers in WWE but he was also responsible for the highly popular ECW promotion from way back in the day.
Heyman also had stints as a GM in WWE but he will be also remembered for his managerial duties.
The Advocate, as Heyman is called, has earned millions over the years. Paul Heyman’s net worth being $15million, and some of that has come thanks to him working with his ‘guys’. A Paul Heyman Guy ends up becoming the most important part of a promotion and there have been a few of them.
Heyman has managed several stars from different promotions but three of them stand out tall.
3) Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns might have become a ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ recently but the changes in the Big Dog speak for themselves.
Reigns was already popular and extremely wealthy before he joined Heyman. Roman Reigns’ net worth of $12m, earns millions per year and is a multi-time WWE champion.
However, it would be fair to say that the current Reigns is the best WWE has ever seen. He doesn’t talk unless needed, doesn’t pander to the crowd, doesn’t care for anyone else and is possibly the best heel in the promotion.
Heyman has only worked with Reigns for a few months and this is what WWE is getting, and it will be frightening to see what else the pair can come up with in the coming months.
2) CM Punk
CM Punk will go down as one of the most divisive figures in wrestling, not because of his talent, but because of how outspoken he was.
His pipe bomb against WWE will go down in history as one of the greatest promos in history of wrestling. However, The straight-edged superstar was something else in the ring too. While he wasn’t a ‘Heyman Guy’ at the start in WWE he teamed up with the Advocate in 2012.
Punk was incredible during his time with Heyman and they had worked previously on other promotions too.
While this relationship wasn’t the longest for Heyman, Punk remains one of the greatest wrestlers ever.
1) Brock Lesnar
The Beast and the Advocate terrorised WWE ever since they came together in 2002. Lesnar destroyed almost everyone he came across and Heyman was the person who did the talking.
Cut to nearly 18 years later, and the pair still held that kind of power in WWE. Lesnar won multiple titles during his time with Heyman and it was only until recently that the pair fell apart.
While Heyman is with Reigns, Lesnar seems to be waiting in the wings to make his move. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion and Heyman were the perfect pair in WWE. One spoke little and destroyed others in the ring while the other ensured no one dared to speak up when he was on the microphone.
Lesnar is and will be the ultimate ‘Paul Heyman Guy’, and he could yet comeback and team up with his former manager.
